Clearly the disappointed aren't creative in their horniness. A few yo-yo trick "fails" and Sister Pureheart is at our mercy.

Ah man, from the thumbnail I thought she had a Skip-It™️ and got excited. So yeah, *slight* disappointment.

Could be both. The Aztec and Inca(?, if not them then another South American group) also had something similar as well.

Amazing how separated by hundreds or even thousands of miles, there are items that connects them. I'm amazed that ALL Cultures around the globe have three things in common: Dragons, Gold and Chicken Soup.

"Ethnographic parallells" antropologists call it.  There is a noted and pervasive tendency for isolated societies with a given mode of production to independently develop technologies and cultural institutions that are similar if not identical to those found in other societies with the same mode of production.  For another example, absolutely every agrarian society on the planet, at one point, independently created the very same pentatonic scale of music if it hadn't already been introduced to them by the time they developed large grains.  It would stand to reason that the yo-yo would be a common tool for hunter/gatherers.  As SnowPyg noted, it's really easy to do some damage with those things--great for hunting.

Ah yes. That's the term. College is a fading memory to me...
Somewhere in the 1990s I read an article where anthropologists found an intact flute and several broken ones made from a bear's leg bone in a Neanderthals' cave and it was set to a  pentatonic scale. So it goes back pretty far. Human history is indeed connected.

Definitely, I was (and still am) a terror with a Duncan Butterfly! Those things are hard! And I can toss one to wrap around an arm or leg (or neck).

That is impressive.  I never could use those butterfly yo-yos well, which is a shame, because they could do all the best tricks.

Disappointed?  Hell no!  I want to see someone use one of those without hands.

As a kid, I not once but twice bloodied my nose so bad I passed out thanks to a yo yo. So less disappointment, more PTSD
