Back in 2013 I had a weird event that would eventually spiral into the creation of High School Death Party, or at least how we know it today. You see, HSDP is something I've been working on for a very long time and for a large portion of that time it was an abandoned project. As luck would have it though, in 2013, during my annual Halloween Countdown I realized I was short a slot. With little time to fix the issue, I had to draw something and out of the blue, that old project came back to me and since it was fitting for the holiday, I did something with it.
I know. I know. Quinten looked so different back then!
In any case, that little mix up stirred something in me. It made me remember how much fun I had with that project and it got me thinking. Maybe. Just maybe, I could do something with it. From that day forward I reworked the series into what we know today and a year later, High School Death Party was born proper. So needless to say, I owe a lot to that random picture, rough as it may be. This year, as I took a trip down memory lane I wanted to pay homage to that by recreating the image with the modern designs, just to see how much it's all changed.
I'm sorry I don't have much else for Halloween this year. I've been so burnt out physically and mentally that I just couldn't come up with anything. Making two big Halloween events on top of burn out and for a series that is already inherently Halloween-like is kind of difficult. I guess as much as I don't want to admit it, some years this is just gonna happen. I'm going to try my best to get back to regular posting in the next few months, but the end of the year always has a way of getting away from me what with the holiday clusterfuck. Still, thank you all for your continued support. I couldn't do it without you and as always, Happy Halloween!
