"Long live the Pumpkin Queen!" they would cry. A chant before done with little feeling behind it. Once seen as little more than arm candy, the would be queen was thought a poor choice for a strong leader. Even the queen herself felt reluctant to fill such a roll. When there are those that would challenge her rule, proving not just to one's self, but to all that you are fit to be leader sometimes winning followers over requires a firm hand. The destruction of one's enemies can go a long way and the patchwork doll bestowed with Halloween magic can do the trick in short, yet flashy, order.
A Halloween/Nightmare Night tradition I share with Mingle. Only I usually take one of the ideas that didn't win this year and make my own redition of it. This year it's the Pumpkin Queen partially inspired by Tim Burton's "Nightmare before Christmas." I had a great time with this one. I usually try to capture Mingle's mysterious and sensual nature in pieces like this, but also play to the sinister element in many Halloween themed pieces.
Brush. I just don't know how to thank You. Yet again, You surprised me. From all the possible options You picked the one I deemed least likely XD And You did wonders with it. I can't say for sure, since You are such a talented artist, and Your works always mess with my mind, sparking nothing but awe; but it may be Your best art yet. I just love the shading, how smooth and detailed it is, and how well balanced and proportioned I look <3 And Your interpretation of the theme itself is so non-obvious, and interesting :O With the crown of little pumpkins, and half-pumpkin face. And the outfit, being as stitched-up, as the body is X3 Incredible :D And the manecut... so elegant. Very much in my style, and I need to use it sometimes ;3
I simply love it, and I can't thank You enough! It's the most epic look I've ever sported in any depiction. I hardly deserve it.
The effort You put into it is outstanding. Turning me into such a beautiful, confident, royal, and clearly dangerous creature, just made me jump from joy, and that's not an exaggeration :O
Thank You Brush. You really made me happy. Let me shower You with hugs and kisses, my great painter ;*

It's wonderful to hear you like this one as you do. I spent a while trying to balance the several ideas that came to mind for this theme. As you pointed out, I didn't want to go too obvious with it, but still hold true to the character you were portraying. I wanted to go a bit more regal with it given how elegant you look in general but didn't want to take too much away from the patchwork design of the character. I'm glad it all worked out. As for the manecut, well that was actually inspired by a piece of yours. I may have embellished a bit by keeping your mane long, but the design is mostly yours from a piece you did some time ago.
As always you are very welcome Miss Mingle and I look forward to seeing what next year brings. There are always pieces that I'd love to feature you in.
