No fancy interpretation of the word - armadillo means one thing and one thing only!

Given how the animal rolls into a ball to defend from predators, I had an idea of a stereotypical gradeschool nerd. As I imagined the character more, I had a strong feeling that they'd be a they/them. Also that they'd be scaly everywhere, except with a really soft butt~
