1983 saw the release of "Potty Monster", a horror movie involving several teen furs at a bedwetting support camp. The film was such a success for Big Diaper Studios that they produced four sequels, and 1987's "Potty Monster III" was widely considered the best of the franchise. It descended into campy comedy in the later installments, but PM3 featured the scariest potty monster yet, along with the vicious little training potties that would hide in dark corners and attack hapless victims. It was so scary that theaters had to install plastic seats to deal with the many accidents sustained by the audience. Soon diapers were mandatory, and this practice continued at raucous midnight screenings to this day.
The film series was rebooted by A24 in 2018 as "The Potty Monster", a more psychological take on the franchise in which the titular monster was played by Nicolas Cage. In the original films the monster was voiced by Tim Curry.
