I started this as a sketch for a carved stamp the same as this picture:
Ach! Das Limpet! by Bahlam

I think Mister Limpet came out a little better in color.

This spring I went hiking in the Awosting Reserve up to Mud Pond.  When I took a siesta in my hammock near Mud Pond I was awoken by a gray tree frog singing in a pitch pine tree above me.  I'd heard them in a nearby wetland area but wasn't aware they existed high up on the ridge.  It was one of those weird magic times.

On my way out in the evening I stopped at a small retention pond in the Reserve, which was meant to be the site of the welcome center for a luxury development it could have become.  Instead the property was bought by OSI and turned into a proper nature preserve.  I go there all the time.  When the sun started going down the whole place came alive with their calls.  It was surprising.  The little critters are hard to see and I had no idea just how many there were around that little fish-free (ie. mostly predator free) pond.

Since I've gotten into letterboxing lately I decided to put a box by the pond.  I figure very few Inkbunnies are letterboxers so I decided to share a photo of the box contents so you all don't have to go hiking up the trail to see what it's about.  It would be nice if somefurry did though.  There's a big stamper based on the image John Bradley had on his no trespassing signs representing the Reserve's past, and a stamper with the frog on it representing its future.  I could've done two boxes but figured, screw that.  I have a much scarier idea for a pair of boxes elsewhere.  Please don't redistribute the photos of the box contents or my 'Spottycat' signature stamp image.  It's a letterboxing thing.

Anyone who lives within range and who is inclined to hike a few miles to stamp in on the box is welcome to.  It's listed on LbNA and Atlas Quest and there's a printable PDF clue sheet.

Anyway, here's my little froggy in several different versions.  A neighbor who is into stamp carving also made me a shirt with the image on it.  The transfer isn't set yet so I don't have photos of it.

I have several different rather evil letterboxing ideas in progress and I'll let everyone here know about them as they progress.
