She didn't take offense at "Fat-assed" because fat-bottomed girls make the world go 'round. So it's not really an insult. She didn't take offense at "Stupid" because the pejorative didn't apply to her (or maybe because it did..?) and thusly didn't 'stick' So she took offense at "midget" because the root of that adjective is 'midge' which is a tiny biting insect. As a Guardian, she obviously didn't take kindly to being labeled annoying and insignificant. That was the worst insult.
