Before I got Darksiders II and started playing it, I did some searching and found some really great concept art for it (mostly sketches by Joe Madureira), and for some reason I find that more interesting than some of the actual in-game visuals. I've asked myself what a Sableye would look like in Darksiders style before (in my Darksiders LP, at that), and after looking at tons of character design sketches, I started to kind of get an idea of what an anthro version of a Sableye might look like. I figured there would be no better candidate for this doodle set than Gem.
I tried to make him look like something out of the game as much as I could without completely taking away all the Gem-ness (hence why I didn't give him insane weapons and detailed clothing). I think I did pretty well on that. Figuring out the anatomy sure gave me troubles, though. I'm not entirely sure if I like the face or not, but I didn't know what else to do with it...
All in all, I had a lot of fun, and I learned many things.
AND HOLY CRAPNUGGETS DARKSIDERS II IS AMAZING ASDFLOLWTF
