This parody was done as a challenge. I had to made a parody of "Mad World" with the subject of an inappropriate post to a role playing forum.
I am re-recording these for two reasons:
1) The first weekend in March, I have been invited to perform at Marscon in Minneapolis. My room and registration are paid for, but not my transportation or food. Any contributions to help cover these costs would be greatly appreciated.
2) I am remastering my first album, "The Sound And The Furry" simply because I can do a much better job on them now. Anyone who already has a copy can obtain a new one simply for the cost of postage ($5). Just send me a pic of your old CD.
I hope to get this remastering done in time for Marscon, so I can sell the new copy there.
Lyrics:
Tried to post a message to a forum
Fighting boredom, fighting boredom
Just some simple science fiction roleplay
Star Trek ensign, Star Trek ensign
A new member posts a brand new subject:
"Try Viagra." "Try Viagra."
This is followed very closely after:
"Ban the bastard!", "Ban the bastard!"
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
That the thread on which we flamed him
Was the longest that we had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When the spammers treat the internet
Just like it was an
Ad World
Ad World
Then the Admins had the post deleted
"End discussion." "End discussion."
But the posting simply was repeated:
"Try Viagra." "Try Viagra."
This was followed by a hundred postings:
"Legal action!", "Legal action!"
Some retorted with their moral boastings:
"First Amendment!", "First Amendment!"
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
That the flame war that it started
Was the best we ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
Still the spammers treat the internet
Just like it was an
