Well, the best way to teach young minds full of mush is to get their attention.

Also sing silly songs, do funny dances, and liberally hand out rewards and candy. 😊

Those things I don't know anything about.  I was in Elementary school in the early to mid-1960s but I do know about the teacher getting my attention (and quite often NOT in a manner that I enjoyed).

Ha, I think Shema attends to the more modern method of "be their friend", which in her case, works very well! The mind wonders at how she'd deal with older students, but we'll never find out, unless she substitutes for a day.

Yeah.  A smart teacher designs her teaching method to meet the needs of her students.  I remember reading a story a teacher wrote about his first day teaching at a rather rough school.  He'd recently broken some ribs and had a thick cast-like wrapping around his chest.  He was looking for someplace to place some papers and couldn't find a place so he took his stapler and stapled the papers to his shirt.  He said he didn't have a bit of trouble out of his students that whole year.  True?  I don't know.  But, it was an interesting story to read.
