We create characters and sometimes they come to mean something to us. Sometimes they come to mean not much at all. But whomever they are, their lives are in our hands, to direct, and shape, and change, as we see fit.

They'll never complain, so it's not much of a responsibility, but I still feel that I should consider what Shema would want, sometimes, when I purchase art of her.

A bit strange, I know.

This.  100% this.  We give meaning to our characters and art.  And in many ways, they write themselves.  The characters we create, the stories we write, and the time we spent on it all have meaning.  Not strange in the least, I think many artists here have this same emotion (myself included) but it's rarely expressed so well as this.  Very nicely drawn and stated.

Thanks! Shema has grown as a character so much and I sometimes wonder how much of it was really my doing and how much of it was hers, but that's simply a romantic way of looking at it, of course it's all on us, but that doesn't mean they aren't an important part of who we are. 😊
