It was a good thing Sonic had given them a guided tour yesterday so Silver knew where to find the nurse's office. Silver wiped away their tears when students passed by, the ivory hedgehog just didn't want to show how vulnerable they were feeling at the moment. Their left knee just hurts badly.
The nurses office wasn't far from the gym, which was probably a very tactical move from the school, this probably wasn't the first time a student got hurt during gym class. Silver knocked on the door and waited.
A light purple cat in a white uniform opened the door slightly, at first she thought there was nobody but opening the door further she spotted Silver. ``Oh sorry I didn't see you there.'' She said since Silver was pretty small compared to the other students. ``Please come on in, have a seat on the bed''
Silver walked in with a bit of a limp, the ivory hedgehog lifted theirself onto the bed and sat down, Silver looked around the office, everything just looked spotless but not in a depressing hospital kind of way, it was much nicer. The walls were painted a blue color with some nice paintings on them, probably made by the art class students, and the floor was a warm coloured type of wood.
The nurse looked at Silver who was sitting quite cutely on the bed swinging their legs as they were too short to reach the floor. ``I guess you are one of our new students huh?'' The nurse asked, Silver nodded. ``Well, I'm Ms Blaze and you must be Silver then, one of the younger students. How can I help you?''
Silver told her what happened during gym class and that their knee hurts. She sat down on the chair and examined the ivory youngster's knee, she bent and touched it and Silver winced. Silver looked down at the nurse and was mesmerized by her bright beautiful eyes and the way she softly touched Silver's knee. Silver sighed.
``I love cats,'' Silver blurted out all of a sudden. Ms Blaze looked up a bit questionable. ``Oh no, sorry, t-that was not what I meant, I don't think you are like a pet cat,'' The ivory one started to blush as they rambled. ``I have four cats and they are the sweetest, you remind me of them. Oh no sorry, that came out wrong. Just forget I said anything.'' Silver dropped their head and ears down in embarrassment.
But Ms Blaze just giggle softly, which made Silver look up quickly. `She looks so nice and smells like strawberries. OMG! What am I thinking.'
Ms Blaze just stroked Silver's top quills and simply said, ``I like cats too.'' She walked over to her drawers and got out a tube of creme, some tape and a beanbag from the mini fridge. ``You only sprained your knee, it hurt a lot because your muscles were stretched the wrong way.'' She applied the creme from the tube and slowly rubbed it on their knee, it already eased the pain a bit. ``This is gonna we a bit cold.'' She placed the beanbag on their knee and Silver shivered from the cold. She wrapped it with the tape to hold the beanbag in place against their knee. ``That will do it. You just need to keep it cold for a few hours that will probably be enough.''
She put the tube and tape back in the drawers. ``It's nice to meet you,'' Silver said softly, Blaze smiled.
``It's nice to meet you too and good to know that you know where to find me. If anything happens you can always come to me. Maybe the principal told you, but I took some mental health classes to help you and your friend if necessary. It can be hard to fit in at college, especially at such a young age, so if there is anything you want to talk about, just let me know.'' Silver froze when Ms. Blaze mentioned the principal.
`I totally forgot to hand in the proof of registration this morning.' Silver felt a slight panic coming up. ``Sorry nurse Blaze but I have to go, thank you for your help.''
Silver got up and wanted to open the door. ``Hey, wait a minute.'' Ms Blaze said and Silver turned around, ``You're forgetting something.'' She pulled out a lollypop out of a drawer and held it out towards Silver.
Silver looked at it. ``I'm sorry, I know I'm young but I'm still fifteen, not eight.'' The youngster commented awkwardly and a bit offended.
``So... you don't want it?''
Silver looked at it, ``What flavour is it?''
``Cherry.''
``I love cherry,'' Silver said happily taking the popsicle.
``That's what I thought,'' she said smiling at the youngster. Silver took their backpack and went out of the nurse's office, quickly taking out the proof of registration form and the pen Tails had given them. At the bottom of the form there was a dotted line for their parents to sign. Silver signed the form with a signature the youngster had faked many times before and ran over to the principal's office as quickly as the pain in their knee would let them.
Silver knocked the door, ``Come in'' Mr Knuckles' voice sounded spoke. Silver opened the door and popped in their head. ``Oh hey Silver, come on in!''
``Thank you sir.'' Silver spoke softly. ``I'm sorry I'm so late, but I still needed to hand you the signed proof of registration form but I kinda forgot this morning.'' the ivory hedgehog handed over the form. Mr Knuckles inspected the signature while Silver held their breath.
``Everything looks to be in order, thank you.'' Silver sighed relieved as the form was approved.
``Well I should be going again.'' The youngster turned around and left the office, it was too late to go back to gym class now, so Silver decided to change back into their normal clothes in the toilets.

The bell rang as Silver was waiting for Tails outside of the gym. Many students passed by to go to the cafeteria for their lunch break. The door opened and Silver's classmates came out. Some of the girls quickly came over to Silver when they spotted the beanbag taped around their knee.
``Oh poor baby!''
``How are you doing?''
``That's gotta hurt.''
``We were so worried.''
Silver blushed brightly of all the attention.
``Give Silver some air ladies,'' Sonic came in between, he turned around, ``But seriously, how are you doing?"
Tails popped out of the crowd and looked a bit worried by Silver's blushing face. ``Come on, let's get some lunch.'' Tails took the Silvr's wrist and pulled them out of the crowd and away from the attention. Tails took them to the cafeteria and sat down in a quiet corner. Tails took out his lunch.
``So how are you doing?'' Tails asked a bit worried.
``Oh it's fine, just twisted my knee, nothing to worry about,'' Silver sighed, ``I think I was mostly in shock from the whole situation.''
``I can believe that,'' Tails replied, ``Shadow looked like he was about to kill you.'' Silver gulped, that comment didn't really help at the moment. Tails noticed his friend's worried face and quickly changed the subject ``Hey aren't you eating anything?''
``Oh well, I overslept this morning and I kinda forgot to bring something with me.''
``You could always buy something at the cafeteria? Or would you like some of my lunch?'' Tails offered.
``Oh no, I'm not hungry,'' Silver lied, but didn't want to take advantage of their friend and didn't really have much to spare at the moment.
``You sure?'' Silver nodded.
Tails and Silver didn't say much more during the lunch break. The ivory youngster just stared into space as they thought about all the things that had happened. After a while they noticed space was looking back at them with two ruby red eyes and quickly snapped out of it. Apparently Silver was glaring over at Shadow, and Shadow was mirroring Silver's stare. Shadow was looking them up and down, but it was difficult to know what he was thinking. Silver quickly looked away feeling a bit sweaty, afraid Shadow would still be angry about the incident during gym class.
``Something wrong?'' Tails asked.
``Well...'' Silver started but didn't really know what to say.
``You know you can tell me anything, right?''
``Yeah I know, but it's just really embarrassing,'' Silver let their head drop down. `Am I really going to tell him about what the dark gang was talking about yesterday?' they thought. Just as they opened their mouth to say more, the bell rang again and Silver sighed relieved but disappointed.
``Oh we have to get to history class!'' Tails stood up.
``Okay, I will be there in a bit, have to go to the toilet,'' Silver lied as Tails walked off. The cafeteria was left a big mess as students rarely bothered to clean up after themselves. Silver waited until everyone was gone and walk around the tables searching. There was so many leftover food on the table, such a shame to throw it all away. There were some half eaten sandwiches laying on the tables. Silver looked around to see if nobody was looking and quickly put them in their backpack. Silver felt sad and ashamed, they weren't proud of doing this but really needed something to eat, even at home everything was gone.
Silver quickly went over to the classroom, everybody was already inside. ``Sorry I'm late Mrs Rose, I just really had to go to the toilet.''
``That's okay, please take a seat. We are just starting''
