Strange thing I noticed about this song while recording. While the song is entirely power chords, there's a lean toward major key in the progression. While recording the vocals, however, I noticed all the vocalizations lean in the minor direction, which made it really hard to make up a third harmony. The melody basically runs the E minor pentatonic scale, and the harmony Robert Palmer uses is a minor harmony. So, to avoid turning the song fully minor, I had to be very careful while making a third harmony. Even then, though, it couldn't always be helped, so some harmonies are noticeably minor. It was an interesting thing to do, though, because I never thought about the song being in a minor key. Simultaneous major minor tonality. Ballin' :3
