I will probably polish this later, but I've been poking at it most of the day so I need to reset my ears. Still, I'm very pleased with how it sounds. The final mix down won't be sooo clipped, but I really love the slight distortion on the drums that it provides, so was a little lazy with the mixer on the last level playthrough. Also uploaded a lessss clipped version! Tomorrow I will do more things with a couple other sample sets and change things abit, probably polish some of the transitions as well.

Samples samples samples and nothing but. Have fun.

EDIT:

Uploaded a second mastered version, with a couple more samples I was going to use, and made some adjustments to the bass and a couple other things. This one *should* be more polished.

I enjoyed listening to it ^^ .

This is hard to verbalize: that strange instrument on the latter half (is that the sitar o_o), that bit it kept doing when it would kinda climb up, and sound a little off key as it was going up.. that bit had to grow on me, but it did ^^; . I kinda wish there was more variety on that instrument's melody because it kept sounding like it wanted to wander and do different things.

Yeah there are a couple more sample sets I still want to add add and maybe tweak things abit more! I think it's a sitar, it's been a long time since I sampled that, the file stamp is from 2005! I personally like the glide it does to get where it's going though.

I like a lot of the new stuff you added :3 Feels more progressive and less repetitive :3

I have to say the beginning sounds a bit like too much too soon. I think what it really is is that a lot of percussive sounds are clashing. There's a percussive hit at the beginning of each bass rep, the guitar starts out sounding more like a percussive clip than melodic, and the drums clip instead of cutting off or decaying naturally. So it sounds like all the elements aren't meshing correctly. Some subtlety or some touch up work on the clips might help, if only for that one part :3

I don't remember if your sample allows for it, but I would see about making the drum gate less intense at first and see if it sounds good. That might account for that clipping I mentioned at the beginning. I like how the staggering works for some of the beat manipulation you pulled out, though about a quarter of the way through the song :3

4:48, a cymbal or something there would solidify that entrance. As it stands, I lose my sense of time as a listener in the pause and the pick-up seems week and off-beat. I also suggest that you focus on that same sitar progression for a bit too long, and since the way you've broken it up is very distinct, doing it over and over is very noticeable.

It's incredibly difficult to take something this long focused on the same lines and make it live and breath instead of being clips of repetitive samples. On this, I commend you :3
