Character Sheet for Jacleen
Character Description
Standing at approximately 3 feet tall, Jacleen is a very small, lithe, slender Imp sporting short, almost black hair atop her head, accompanied by two medium size black horns, pointed slightly toward the back of her head.
Her skin is a light red, adorned all over with standard white spots and tattoo-like stripes and decorations across her body and tail. Behind her black painted lips lie a standard row of razor sharp teeth one would come to expect when dealing with an Imp.
A single white splotch lies below her left eye, almost as a beauty mark.
She is typically seen dressed up in brown leather boots, red pants, a long, ill-fitting gray tank top and most notably, is almost never seen without her "lucky" hoodie.
Personality
Jacleen is curt and short when dealing with others, having little time for wasting and leaving little air in conversations.
When she speaks, she is demanding and demeaning, always trying to angle to get what she wants.
Though a young teen, her upbringing, or lack thereof, has taught her that you always look out for number one, and number one is her. As she never had much semblance of an actual childhood, she was forced to grow up quickly and it shows.
She's shady, conniving, cold, constantly calculating, unfriendly, demanding, and to behonest.... a bit of a bitch.
She doesn't seem to have time for many things that a typical teen does, with few exceptions;
Occasionally being lazy and unmotivated, generally untidy, and an affinity for music, all trademarks of typical teenage behavior.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes:
Theft, conning, grifting, stealing, winning, pickpocketing, angsty and edgy music, drinking heavily, smoking the Devil's Lettuce, "Trouble" by CRMNL.
Dislikes: Being told what to do, having responsibilities to anyone but herself, when people don't believer her because her pants are constantly on fire, any emotional investment in others
Background/History
Born in a small town in Wrath, Jacleen's upbringing was fairly standard for a time. Though her father was absent and wasn't talked about often, her mother cared and provided for her as best as she could until she was about 10 years old.
Being a hard working, Wrath Ring Imp, Jacleen's mother, Martha, knew the importance of teaching her daughter early that life can be tough. After this, a dynamic shift in Martha's care was noticeable. Her dismissiveness of any of Jacleen's weak behavior wasn't born from any malice or spite, as far as she was concerned, it was a way of life, an important lesson to be hammered home early on.
After this, Jacleen was set to work, always going out for tasks of manual labor even at such a young age, though she didn't take to it at all. She neither liked it nor did she want to do it.
It was around this time in her life that she first began lifting odds and ends, items and pocket books here and there. At first, she didn't realize it was necessarily wrong, stealing valuables or money from other hard working Imps in her community, but even after learning this, she was well beyond the point of caring, as the rush of engaging in such activities began to take over.
Within the first few years, of course she had been caught nearly a dozen times, painting herself in a negative manner, and being appropriately punished for her transgressions. Even still, she carried on, though less from the rush now and more in an act of open defiance... and the more she defied, the better she got. She even began weaseling her way out of trouble from time to time, spinning tales and telling lies, learning to notice certain targets and weaknesses to her well-crafted sob stories, tugging at heart strings and sleezing her way around punishments with masterful grace.
Of course, this skill also only sharpened over time, not only playing on the sympathies of some, but eventually learning to play on insecurities, impatience and even indignations with downright antagonistic precision.
By age 12, she could make someone dance like a puppet on a string, pulling fast cons on the other neighborhood children and adults alike.
Eventually, she had done everything she could think to do in Wrath, and decided to leave the hard-work life behind, filled as it was by dullards, simpletons and more than a handful of enemies she'd made along the way.
She set her sights high, aiming for Imp City, where after almost a year of living there she found her way to a small curio shop on a stretch of abandoned buildings. A curio shop belonging to none other than the smooth-talking, fast-walking, son of Hell's streets, Zip.
When first she arrived, she simply strolled into the store, immediately gaining the attention of the store owner, fast at work making a deal with a prospective client. She took no time in strolling up to the would-be customer and exclaimed right to his face "You know this guy is known for ripping you off and stealing people's organs?".
Immediately, the demonic patron vacated the building, after shooting a sideways glance to Zip, who was absolutely incredulous at this turn of events.
The two then entered into a conversation, being steered almost entirely by the younger Jacleen, while Zip simply stood in calculating silence, with no emotion displayed on his face at all.
Talking fast, and commanding the conversation where she wanted it, Jacleen asserted that Zip was her father and that she would be staying with him, since he owed her for leaving her mother before she was born. She stated everything as a matter of fact, presenting timelines, her mother's name, and stories told to her when she was young describing him and how he apparently "got around" in Wrath.
All of this information was met once again with zero emotion displayed on Zip's face and in his voice, as he began to deny her accusations with his own list of evidence that her father "Can be jus' any ol ornery bastard.".
