"hey if you breath fire in this area once every so many days we will give you this much gold. no need to fight just come. blow fire in there. and take the money."

Gold has a very low melting point. Dwarves would ask him to go deep underground and just breathe fire onto gold seams to cause it to melt free and run into catch basins. The only problem I could see with that is just how much Dwarves love digging so they may not want to outsource the job.
