idk what police tea woof is holding...it was supposed to be a baton/battering ram but then it got all weird...baton/mailbox looking thing. I guess would need it to bust in a door?

Drinks a lot of tea...cuz I roll like that. Is good for you and stuff. But not hot tea...rarely hot/warm tea...

So when inquired if it was okay to be using cold water, the degree of seriousness in the reply I got...and when I jokingly asked if the police would come if I refused to use hold water for the tea, things only got more serious.

I'm still waiting for police to come and arrest me for breaking tea laws. I wonder if they would all be really fancy...WHAT IF THEIR CARS ALL HAD TOP HATS AND MUSTACHES ON THEMS? 8<

They'll take you to the cooler for not using a heater.

Bloody here... now you've got me wanting to see what a difference cold vs. hot water has on tea. My first thought was making it take a much longer time to steep(brew? whatever the word is), but any excuse for SCIENCE! can't be passed up like that.

SCIENCE! is finished, notes as follows:

(I'll preface this with the fact that the tea I chose seems to have a very light pre-sugar taste, so I'm mostly going off of color)

5 minute mark:
Hot: Color darkened quite fast, very noticeable.
Cold: Color has only slightly darkened, not nearly as noticeable.

10 minute mark:
Hot: Color continues to darken at a good rate, noticeably darker than previous.
Cold: Color still very light, has darkened only slightly at most.

15 minute mark:
Hot: Color seems to have plateaued between this time and last, coloration is only slightly darker this time.
Cold: Color remains fairly light, perhaps only half as dark as hot water test.

Conclusion:
Using hot water allows you to drink your tea much sooner. Using cold water on the other hand is it's own punishment, causing the steeping process to take a lot longer, and leaving you with a much weaker(I assume) tea.

Have you considered making iced tea? You technically use hot water to make it, so there is no risk of police raids.
