Background/History
Edrich Franklin McCoy was born 04/March/2044 to an abusive single mother (Elaine Rae McCoy.)

He was locked in his room regularly and never was allowed to attend school out fear that he'd tell someone about his home life.

Despite her attempts at keeping him home, Edrich snuck out regularly. Always exploiting flaws in his mother's attempts at imprisonment, he was almost never at home except when he knew his mom would come to bring him his supper.

Despite her abusiveness, she never fed him anything but her best cooking, he was never dirty and, so long as his room was clean, she'd leave him be.

However, as the years progressed, she became ill. He'd read every single book in the house, multiple times, without her knowing it and that was a vast library of information for the average home. Literally amounting to a small town library.

When she was hospitalized, he ran away. He took every dollar he could find until he knocked a shoebox down, spilling it's contents.

A book titled "How to leave your family behind you" had a bookmark on a page detailing how to convince doctors that you are terminally ill and, "as a single parent, child services will whisk them off to foster care. You'll be free in no time!"

Looking at the other items, he quickly took stock.
.357mag colt python, $3,500 cash, a set of car keys that he recognized as belonging to an early 1990's Chevrolet vehicle and a map of the city with a circle drawn in red marker.

He took everything and fled. Following the map, he found the area with the red circle and spotted a 1993 Chevrolet cavalier.

He started the engine and saw that the fuel gauge was near empty.

He went to the marina, fueled up and headed west toward Texas.

It was while he was shopping for food that it happened. The car exploded and killed a mother and two of her children, only injuring the third. What he hadn't known was that his mom set the car to do this thirty minutes after shutting off the engine. The timer only restarts when the key is turned on.

With that, the police arrived and went through the footage. Edrich had already left. Seeing the destruction right where the car had been, as well as the blood and body parts, he fled.

He did come back, only leaving the map and book on the seat of a squad car.

Now he was wanted for questioning as the police surmised that he couldn't have been responsible.

After two years of investigation, Edrich's mother was arrested for murder, attempted murder, possession of an IED, manufacturing explosives, child abuse and child endangerment.

However, the police still searched for Edrich.

Eight years later, he was running through the alpine forest in Northwest Montana, only to be hit by something that knocked him down hard. The sound of a rifle came shortly afterward but he didn't hear it as he was struggling to breathe.

A few minutes later, he opened his eyes and saw that he'd fallen under a massive spruce's low branches. So low that you wouldn't see anything under them without lifting them up.

He crawled out and found that he could smell the person who shot him.

Tracking the shooter down, he saw a Montana "Possum Cop" and waited.

"Yep. He's dead. I used that new ammunition you told me to. There was nothing left except some blood splatter on nearby foliage. I'm heading there now. Alright, see you then."

Edrich had been smart to move while the ranger was distracted and clawed the rear right tire of the. . . Ranger. . . Edrich knew that, as small as the hole was, the tire would fail on the main highway into town and nicking the brake line would mean a total loss of control.

The next day.

Edrich captures a squirrel and enjoys a nice meal.

"You're a human, idiot."

That's what they told me countless times.

Then I was shot with an experimental ammunition designed to destroy it's target at the molecular level. . .

Instead of molecular destruction, they were rearranged and here I am. Don't know what I am, but it ain't human.

Now, the bounty on my head has quadrupled. Yeah, the government wants me that badly.

The only people who ever wanted me when I was human, too.

Oh, well. Humanity be damned. I'll give them a reason to place me as FBI's most wanted.

I've been running away from people since I was 6. Unstable and abusive family, authoritarians and, until now, FBI, CIA and the military.

Don't train someone for war and expect that person to turn a blind eye to you. That isn't how it works.

With most people, they'll turn on you the moment they feel betrayed.

That's me. I felt betrayed when I received the letter calling me back to active duty. I felt betrayed when my brother signed my name for the certified letter and I felt betrayed when they came to arrest me when I had no legal defense against such corruption.

I fought back and now I am a wild animal. They have nothing that can stop me now.

I'm about a third larger, now, than I was. I don't know where I picked up the extra mass, but you'll never hear me complain. I'm easily twenty to thirty times as strong as I was also.

All in all, I'd say that I owe the government my thanks. Their screwup is definitely working for me.

I used to read stories about humans turned into other beings and having to relearn how to use their new bodies. I guess my circumstances are a bit different. I didn't need to relearn anything. It's like I was born as this. I wonder what type of being I am viable with.

I sincerely hope that I am able to reproduce. The world needs a strong opposing force against the worst of humanity while preserving the best.

He heh! What if I'm still able to impregnate human women. . . Talk about an icy backhand across the face to those who seek power over other humans. My kind stealing from their genepool!
