Most of the time was spent on that stupid background, which still needs a lot of work...But I'm not willing to put anymore hours into a single page so...)

Aaaand we're back to these guys. I love Elska's logic. Tomato's like ten! Obviously he's old enough to be on his own and making fire! Centaur kids are mature enough to handle it...Can a little satyr?

Find out in the next page, whenever the hell I manage to finish it.

The background is awesome, but ... yeah it is _very _ detailed for a comic. Your background on this are more detailed then your characters which is even more unusual. The webcomics that i have read that have that level of detail generally burn out or stall. The following webcomics, which imagine you have read at some point, have not so detailed backgrounds in general: goblins comic, nodwick, gunnerkrigg, twokinds.

I want to see where this story goes.

You're absolutely right. I want to make a rich and detailed world, but it does look odd with the cartoonish characters...I'm not sure what to do...
Thanks for the feedback!

The main thing I could suggest would be using detailed key frames, and other frames minimal.

Look at Girl genius. Backgrounds range from the rare two page spread(2011-11-04 is most recent) to gradients.  Detailed backgrounds are used describe the scene, but once the scene is set, other frames don't need much background.   I would hope you agree that Girl genius has a rich a detailed world.

I am mentioning other comics as examples that you can get ideas from. Those that i have mentioned have been running for some time, so they have some clue of what they are doing.

Thanks, that's actually extremely helpful! For the next page I think I'll ease back on the detail, and use more shading only when it's necessary for emphasis or something. You really helped me out!

Your welcome.
I look forward to reading more. FTR has a different/unique plot variation. The standard is a young male going off to rescue the kidnapped female.  You have a non-gifted(items, skills, pets, magic) child and a lazy lecherous drunkard as two of the major/main characters on the quest.

I like the difference from the typical.

I'm so happy you're enjoying it, and I'm VERY happy you appreciate the direction I'm going with it. I know a lot of people would be turned off to characters so "average". :) I find that it's more satisfying to watch a disadvantaged character overcome obstacles than a powerful character.
