Funny. That said there are plenty of ways to use references that don't involve actual human beings as reference. I think the general lack of critique with cub art in comparison to non-cub is that most people into cub are just glad to get any at all. That, and let's face it-as a group we don't exactly have the highest standards lol. Otherwise we probably wouldn't be into it in the first place lol.
