Me and my younger brothers used to do a lot of roleplaying/collaborative storytelling with our collective Lego collection, even into my early mid 20s. I have fond memories of a lot  of my "main hero" guys (who would of course form teams with other peoples' "main hero" guys), but the only one anyone else is able to remember is Aoi Greenface.

Aoi was a green cat-boy who grew up alone in the forest. He was always immediately cheerful and friendly to new people. As he started adventuring, he demonstrated plant-elemental magic powers and amazing agility, coordination, and dexterity; he was somewhat weak and frail physically, at least in proportion to the other heroes. This, it was noted immediately, was contrary to the usual stat builds I'd give my personal dudes (I normally made them either powerful mages with good physical toughness to back it up but low mobility or strong warriors with a bit of magic power but low mobility - Aoi was mobility first and foremost, then magic, and strength last).

Aoi and friends once had an adventure where they saved the city of Atlantis from a giant shark. The minifigure's left hand fell out at some point in this play scenario, so we had in-story that it was bitten off one of the times the shark bit Aoi during the battle, and the Atlanteans built him a cybernetic replacement (and so from then on, the character always had one red hand no matter what I did with changing his outfit).

My younger brother Matt, a couple chapters before we concluded this whole string of adventures, realized that since I'd never bothered to give Aoi a love interest, he'd wind up alone in the epilogue and made a calm, timid non-adventurous catgirl named Melody. She made a good contrast and emotional anchor for him as he matured and toughened up for the final war, and in the epilogue they were said to have over a hundred children.
