Leon got up out of bed, and walked out of the dorm, making sure to grab his keys before he walked out of the door.
‘There’s so many people around.’ Leon thought, noticing that there were others all around him of all species. He didn’t stop and chat with any of them, that would have been weird, but he was hoping he would meet some chill people to talk to at the fitness center.
‘I wish Avery didn’t have that fucking date,’ Leon thought. ‘It’s only the first damn day and he’s already meeting people.’ He was obviously jealous- Leon wasn’t a very good conversation starter. Sure, if somebody talked to him, he could hold up the conversation, but he never knew how to start one.
Taking a left down the sidewalk, and then walking into the large buidling in front of him, Leon had made it to the fitness center. Having never been there before, he was rather impressed.
“Fuck yeah, a basketball court.” Leon said to himself.
“You like basketball?” He heard somebody behind him say in a deep voice. Turning around, he saw a rather muscular husky with startling blue eyes and blonde highlighted hair.
“Hell yeah, dude. Basketball is my passion.” Leon replied. It was true, basketball was something that Leon loved, he had been playing for as long as he could remember, and it was the whole reason he was accepted into the college in the first place- on a scholarship.
“Awesome, man.” The husky said. “I enjoy shooting some hoops once in a while myself. Need a partner?” The other male said.
“Sure, dude. That would be chill.” Leon said with a grin. It was always nice to shoot some hoops with somebody else, although Leon wouldn’t have minded doing it by himself, either.
“My name’s Sebastian, by the way.” The husky told him, offering his hand.
“Leon.” Smiling, he took the other’s hand in a firm handshake. The two of them went into the court, and grabbed a couple basketballs from the supply closet.
Leon shot, making a three-pointer.
“Nice shot, dude.” Sebastian said, shooting it himself and missing.
“Like I said, it’s a passion of mine.” He said with a toothy grin.
“So, what are you going for?” Sebastian asked, running and grabbing his ball. Leon couldn’t help but notice the rear end of the husky, but he quickly diverted his attention to the hoop, making another shot.
“I’m going for physical education. Kind of cliché, I know, but oh well.” Leon ran and grabbed his ball.
“Do what you love, dude.” Sebastian told him.
“I plan on it,” He smiled. “So what are you going for?” Leon asked.
“Physical Therapy.” Sebastian told him, and Leon wasn’t a bit surprised. It seemed like a popular major these days, and he could see why. There was some decent money in it.
“That’s cool,” Leon said, making another shot. “What do you do for fun?”
“I like to hang out with friends, party a little bit, and work out.” Sebastian told him.
“Yeah, it’s pretty obvious you work out. I mean, you’re fucking jacked, dude.” Leon said with a little chuckle. It wasn’t a lie, the husky had the body of Adonis.
“You like what you see?” The husky asked with a wink, obviously flirting.
“Wh-what?” Leon said, not sure if he had heard correctly.
“I asked if you liked what you see. But, if that weirds you out then nevermind.” Sebastian told him, tossing his basketball and making a shot.
“So you’re gay?” Leon asked, being blunt about it.
“No, I swing both ways. I mean, why not play the field, y’know?” The husky told him with a laugh. “Are you straight?”
“Yep.” Leon lied. But, it was something he was so used to doing that it seemed like a natural response.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry, dude,” The husky apologized. “I didn’t mean to freak you out or anything.”
“Don’t worry about it, dude. My best friend is gay, and I’m rooming with him. Trust me, I have absolutely no problem with it.” Leon smiled a warming smile at his new found friend.
“Oh, that’s good.” Sebastian said with a sigh. “And who’s your roommate? Is he cute?”
“He’s adorable.” Leon said with a chuckle. “I mean, he’s a good looking guy. Probably not your type, though.” Leon thought about it for a moment. Avery was cute, but he didn’t think that Sebastian would be interested in a little lion like Avery.
“Well why not?” Sebastian asked. Leon took out his phone, and held up a finger, signaling the other to wait a minute.
“This is him.” Leon said, showing a picture of the two of them.
“No way!” Sebastian said, sounding to be in disbelief.
“What?” Leon asked. Did Sebastian somehow know Avery?
“I had a date with him today. But he had to leave early for some reason. It was kind of disappointing; he was cute.” Sebastian explained.
“Oh- so you’re the hot husky he was talking about.” Leon said with a laugh.
“He mentioned me to you?”
“Yeah, dude. Avery was telling me that he met you at the coffee shop and that you were hot as hell.” Leon told him.
“Really? That’s awesome. I’m glad he thinks so because he’s cute as fuck.” Sebastian told him with a smile.
“I’ll be sure to tell him that.” Leon said. There was a bit of a silence between the two of them for a moment while they both shot a few more hoops. It wasn’t an awkward silence, they just didn’t talk for a moment.
“So dude, there’s a party tonight that I was going to go to. But I don’t really want to go alone. Think you and Avery might want to come?” Sebastian asked, looking hopeful.
“Sure, dude! We can party with you tonight,” Leon told him. “I mean, I’m definitely game, and I’ll talk Avery into it. Who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky.” Leon said jokingly, winking at the other. Avery wasn’t that type of guy- he was definitely more into relationships than hook ups.
“You think?” Sebastian asked, once again looking hopeful.
“Not at all.” Leon said laughing. “He’s not that type of guy.” He explained. “But, give him a chance. He’s a real sweet heart, and I’m sure you two will hit off really well.” Smiling, he sunk another basket.
“I’ll be sure to.” Sebastian said. “Put your number in my phone, and I’ll text you guys so we can meet.” He tossed Leon his phone, and Leon put in his contact information.
“Alright, I’ll see you then.” Leon said with a smile.
The two of them parted ways, and Leon couldn’t wait to get back to the dorm and tell Avery what had happened. But, more importantly, he wanted to know why he had to leave early.
He walked into the dorm to see Avery sleeping on the bed, and while he was sleeping, Leon jumped into the shower, excited for the night ahead of him.
