I see where she's in deep pain over this tragedy, however a bit of anger. Something triggered this. Something brought this out of her and set it off. Magic, especially pony magic, is usually very good and cant cause such things. I personally sense the hand of a dark creature here. A pony of this magical magnitude would have already been found my Celestia, unless she didn't naturally have this level of magic.
I notice a tear, but not many. She is sad for what she has done, but doesnt appear to want to stop it too much. Shes also standing there, having resigned herself to her fate already. I notice she isnt looking at the camera. She doesnt want to look the viewer in the eye and know who she killed with this.

Everything is accurate with the very minor exception that she didn't remove her own horn. I mean, even the "hand of a dark creature". That's some amazing insight.
Yeah since her horn is gone, any manipulator with the know-how can tap into her magic and use it from the outside. They'd have to be strong enough to use it to it's fullest of course.
