Doctor Frank Morpheus is a genius, if not mad scientist, who specialises in biological soldiers in order to sell them to the highest bidder or to gain influence. With his colleagues he has built up several laboratories where these "soldiers" are bred and where young Mobians are painfully implanted with "superpowers" by using the Chaos Emeralds.
Kagen, who was created from the doctor's own genetic material, was the only surviving subject who could take on the power of the "creation" and survive the process.
However, the requirements for this power are very high and Kagen does not manage to meet them, no matter how hard he tries, especially as a very strong and powerful brain is needed.
Since Kagen does not improve as his biological father wanted, other measures were introduced to motivate him to improve, including physical violence, the efficient use of fear, as well as chastisement.
The picture shows the scene in which Dr Morpheus warns Kagen that he will be eliminated if he does not slowly improve, as his patience is wearing thin.
