And more scenes. This was not really a Rescue Rangers movie, the team never even comes together - Gadget appears for like 1 minute and Monty spends the whole movie captured.

I’m disgusted by what they did to Gadget! Zipper!? Like how the hell does that work!? I get it they are cartoons but still! They could of had it been Chip, Dale, Monty, someone from the cartoon series or from another cartoon series!

Yeah, in 30 years I do not think any furry artist has shipped these two characters. It just felt wrong... Zipper is more like a kid or a pet. I mean he cannot even talk.

Yikes, this is a little bit of a disproportionate reaction. I thought Gadget/Zipper was a cute and funny pairing.

This is so bad; the animation is just abysmal. That's from the people who did "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" in the 80s? This genuinely feels like a terrible sketch from MadTV from the late 90s.

Nah, I doubt anyone from that era of animation is still working at Disney. Yeah, the 2D animation, what little there is of in the movie, is pretty bad, and terribly integrated with live action. Looney Tunes Back in Action did that better, honestly.

You're right! That one was bad as well but at least it looked okay! I read today that this "Rescue Rangers movie" cost the same amount of money like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I was honestly shocked. My personal guess would have been 1.4 million production cost at most. I mean there are literally kids on YouTube who can do way better animations than the stuff in this movie.

Maybe this is some tax avoidance scam or are they washing money? It's impossible that this movie cost 70 million US Dollars. I mean where did the 70 million Dollars go? Certainly not to the effects team and the people who built the bad sets. This reminds me of “Jack & Jill” by Adam Sandler which also cost a ridiculous and highly unbelievable sum.

Nah. Sadly, this is par for course for modern animation. See Teen Titans Go, new She-ra, Thundercats Roar. You could change the characters to be anyone else, and the shows would be the same. Clearly, these writers had an idea to sell about 2 washed-up cartoon actors and their wacky adventures, showed it to Disney, and they dusted off to see what old property they can skin and pull its skin on this framework to make a new movie. I mean, you could make this movie with Baloo and Kit from Talespin instead of Chip and Dale, nothing would change.

I have never watched any of these shows but I think I understand what you mean. The people who make these movies and shows ultimately don't care about the story and the characters, it's just a cheap gimmick to make money.

Sandler is different - he has an old and tried and true scam method. Basically, he takes all his actors to an expensive holiday and they shoot a movie there on the side. This way they get their vacation paid by the studio and the return still brings in enough money to cover the expenses.

Damn, that sounds plausible. Sandler and his gang are up to no good. We had a movie here which literally only had a man sitting in a tiny room on a chair and reading out loud "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, yet this movie supposedly cost like 15 million Dollars. Everyone knew that it was just a scam. It was revealed later that an organized crime syndicate had used this very movie to wash money, lol. Didn't something similar happen with "Deep Throat" in the 70s?

I think it is kinda common knowledge his movies are money making scams. Same how Uwe Boll got away with making awful movies that were box office bombs, by exploiting loopholes where the german government would cover part of the shooting costs. Luckily, that loophole was removed, which explains why Boll disappeared altogether.

Sandler and Boll are both frauds. It's disturbing how long they were able to do their stuff. I mean Sandler made box office flop after box office flop but they continued to provide him with ridiculous amounts of funding. I’m curious what you think about Roland Emmerich and his last three flops.

I am wondering who even gives Emmerich money anymore. I never liked his blockbuster disaster movies, but really after 10.000 BC he should have never gotten more work. Let's hope the Moon nonsense was the final one.

Yeah, I agree. I just can't get over the fact that the man made the same movie like ten times. It's mind-boggling to say the least. His entire formula of movie-making is “disaster and destruction of famous sides” and “damaged/distant/estranged parent and kid cliché relationship” and that’s it. I vaguely recall 10.000 BC; it was very disappointing. There’s this fascinating idea about the last Atlantean in the background of the movie, but it never gets fleshed out. We never learn anything about him or how he was able to control a gigantic ark all by himself. It’s just thrown in there for nothing, because such a story ark would have required actual writing and character progression

I can't say she's wrong. There are always people who have to be removed from a project for quality control reasons. Just the same, in management and producing there's a level where people stop being screened out from said quality control.

No, he is a full-fledged reasonable character. It's just that his speech was inarticulate. As an example, there was a queen bee he was in love with. She spoke normally.

That was my reaction too when I saw this terrible movie. And not only did they make her give birth to 42 mouse-fly hybrid abominations, they also barely gave her any scenes or lines. She only appears to ferry Chip to the final battle and then disappear.

to be fair this is really has nothing to do with the series but 'actors' from the series. Its essentially who framed rodger rabbit in a modern sense. Rodger and Jessica are only married 'off stage' and are not married in their cartoon sort of deal.

Roger and Jessica's marriage was originally based on the movie. There wasn't a big main series where they had a completely different relationship that viewers are used to.
Also, the main problem is not the marriage of two different species, but the fact that they have mutant children from that marriage. That's what's weird.
