One day, Gertrude was out adventuring, as she is wont to do. She sought a specific prize, a bauble rumored to grant the desires of one's heart. Though no easy task, she indeed found the amulet, and promptly put it on. Power, fame, it would all be hers.. All she'd have to do first is defeat her rival, Samantha! That's right, deeat her rival...eeat her rival... By the time she reached Pardle, she knew exactly what she needed to do to get what she wanted. She needed to eat Samantha Weltzin. Not all that difficult for the agile barbarian, really. Sam didn't even know what hit her...
As for Gertrude, sitting there in the bar with her catch? Perhaps she'll realize her ambitions. Corrupted though they may be, by the time she achieves them.
. While planning this out, I ended up with a backstory of sorts.. Basically what you just read up there. :P A magic amulet that helps one achieve one's goals, but corrupts them in the process. The corruption typically goes unrealized by the wearer, and as such why would they want to remove something that has only helped them? Anyway! This was a long time in the works. Because, well, it's big. :P But now it's done~ Huzzah!
