Rose looked across the playground, seeing many children swarming around the place like ants while adults looked on from the side with little concern. She noticed one person out of place, a little girl in a pink shirt and a bicycle helmet, Gordon's sister if Rose remembered correctly. Instead of mingling with the rest, she had sat herself down near the edge of the sandpit and was rocking rapidly back and forth. Rose, overtaken with curiosity headed towards the small snake and upon getting closer she noticed that she was talking to herself. She had in front of her many different dinosaur toys, and as Rose approached it became clear that the snake was naming the creatures. She would pick one up, say its name, and pick out the next. Rose was bewildered, what the fuck was this? She looked back at the children playing behind her and then back to the little girl, and she wondered if there was something wrong with her. So Rose naturally walked up to her and asked, "whats wrong with you?" "Noffing, I'm jus' pwayin' wiff the dinosaws" she didn't even look at Rose, completely transfixed by the plastic molds in front of her. Well, Rose thought, of course the weird girl couldn't tell her why she was weird, she should go ask her brother, he'll know. And so she did, quickly finding the older snake and b-lining to him, "Powell!" She called out "Yeah?" "Whats wrong with your sister?" Gordon looked horrendously confused, and, if Rose wasn't mistaken, very angry all of the sudden "What?" "Your sister," Rose turned and pointed at the rocking girl, "why is she broken?" When Rose turned back to Gordon his fist was already on its way
Damn, with Sam on the prowl, a guy can't even defend his sister without being made to be the bad one. She has much to learn... in both sensitivity and humbleness.
Loved how Gordon had to correct himself. I'm sure if his sister wasn't present, he'd really lay it out on Sam... unfiltered.
