After numerous failed attempts at regular sketching, I decided to have fun with a bunch of old concepts I had written down many years ago. Parasol staff? Check. Character recycle? Check. Press "E" to lift object joke? Check. Trying to fight an enemy with a jar of pickles the character mistook as Smith & Wesson Model 500? Not quite, but that would be hilarious. I should save that thought.

---

A child with MacGuyver's spirit, Fahn is an aspiring mage apprentice with unorthodox problem-solving methods. While many students reacted from receiving their first staff from the academy by firing off mischievous spells and pranks, Fahn immediately went home, sawed off the staff head, and fused that sucker on top of his parasol, much to the dismay of the academy staff when he showed off his new creation the next day. Although that alone would have warranted immediate expulsion for desecrating the sacred tradition, Fahn's teacher managed to convince the head otherwise, although the event still resulted in Fahn being shunned by the more conservative (And higher) members of the academy.

Parasol staff did give Fahn some unexpected perks over a traditional staff however. On top of providing shelter during rain, it boosted spells with area of effect capabilities and served as a giant magical shield simply by flipping it open. Unfortunately, it also reduced the staff's effective range, forcing Fahn to get close to the target to maximize damage. If nothing else, the parasol can be substituted as a club for old-school beating, although it is quite fragile.

Fahn lives with his parents, working as a delivery boy from the local bakery during the off-hours to help pay for the silly experiments he commits, some ending in less-than stellar fashion than others like that exploding banana. His closet friend is his current teacher, a cool fellow who first encouraged Fahn to think outside the box and always stuck to his side when the others often rebuked Fahn's apparent lack or respect for the tradition.
