Behold! This took me a while to finish, what with a hectic work schedule and a dead-set desire to give it a more painted shading look (as opposed to my usual cel shading). I like to challenge myself with a new goal in each picture, and this one has a TON - detailed background, complicated shading, multiple characters - yow!
) practicing writing their names in Kanji~ Only... something's a little off... bonus points if anyone catches the joke!
Second picture is the transitions this one has gone through, starting with a quick sketch I whipped up on paper, then the initial sketching on the computer, finishing with the end results on the girls.
Third picture just includes a bit of a joke that came up during the initial drawings. I don't remember the punchline, just that he'll NEVER DIE!! D:

I feel silly for noticing this just now, but Saki only wrote the original spelling of her name, 鎖姫. I suppose she could only fit one spelling on the sheet, though.

I have it as idle doodles/testing out the brush~ It started as me testing out different brush types to make each one's handwriting look different (or at least /try/...), but it sorta fit since they're children. I also wanted both of them to have... slightly off understandings of their name :3 Something I could blame squarely on the use of Jim Breen.
