Arguably, being a mammal that actually does lay and hide eggs, the platypus is a much better Easter symbol.
Sorry for the late post, had computer issues yesterday where the pc was shutting down and refusing to turn on. Seems to be fixed now but it cost a lot of time and pushed things back.
