I hope you enjoyed this comic and that it was able to make your day just a little bit better. I could really use the support especially now so I would love it if my work could be shared. <3
I feel that erotica and one's personal preferences of it is often stigmatized or rejected, even in communities of more open expression and similar interests.
There are large swaths of communities that openly celebrate sexuality and sexual identity, but there is still also a continued theme of criticism and harassment for many artists and patrons of the art.
So what I thought on was....that you have a gardener whose garden shows he's got a pretty and seemingly innocent life style out in the open. The way he tends to his flowers would look to anyone to be socially acceptable. But he has a weed in his shed. A dark place that no one goes into but him.
And people don't like weeds because they're considered pests and are usually dealt with, when in reality they're just another blush of flower.
So the gardener acts like everyone else would and pretends to be disgusted because that would be "normal" but he doesn't want to get rid of his weed because deep down he knows that it's what he secretly likes and wishes he could have.
And it's only when the weed finally breaks through that exterior by a confrontation that things finally change. We may not like what we want, but what we want often likes us.
And I feel that the sooner we can accept that about some of ourselves, the sooner we can have one less secret, one less weight that follows us around. You can have your garden, and even a weed or two. They're not always the prettiest but they're still flowers in their own way.
