Tonight is Halloween night, and as the full moon illuminates the night sky with its eerie glow, the main event of the spooky season is full swing. Dressed in their costumes of choice, children of all ages traverse along the moonlit streets with their baskets and buckets in hand, dashing from door to door and saying “trick or treat” to all who answer in hopes of collecting lots of candy. Among those participating in this treasured tradition of trick-or-treating are two Electric-types dressed in pirate costumes, a Minun by the name of Micheal and a Luxio by the name of Lucas. However, despite their identical typings and costumes, their dispositions were as different as night and day, as while Lucas was the daring and adventurous type, Micheal was quite the scaredy cat. In fact, the only reason why he went trick-or-treating was to tag along with his friend and collect some candy along the way, though not even the company of his best friend completely assuaged his fears, whether it be the frightening facial expressions of the jack-o-lanterns, the ghoulish ghosts decorated onto other houses, or, most notably, the very darkness of the night sky.

“O-ok, I think we’ve collected enough candy. C-can we head back now?” Michael timidly trots alongside Lucas, holding his half-full basket of candy with an apprehensive look on his face.

“Huh? Why head back now? The night is young and we’ve got more houses to hit!” the Luxio replies with a playful laugh. “I’m not heading back until my basket is completely full of candy!”

“O-ok then…” the Minun responds with a nervous nod of his head, figuring he’d be better off sticking with his friend than heading back by himself.

After a few more minutes of walking, the two Electric-types encounter a black painted house with a purple bowl of candy resting on the front porch.

“Huh, don’t think I’ve seen this house before.” says Lucas while walking towards it.

After walking up the steps and reaching the front porch, the two Pokémon stare at the purple bowl of candy, quickly taking notice of the slip of paper inside that reads “Take one, please!”. With a content smile on his face, Micheal picks up a single piece of candy and plops it into his basket, though Lucas has a different idea in mind.

“Oh come on, you’re only gonna take one piece, Mikey?” Lucas says to him. “Everyone knows that when it comes to these take one bowls, you don’t actually have to stop at one piece.”

“But that piece of paper says that we can only take one piece.” Micheal says back.

“Hah, and who’s gonna enforce that rule? Chances are the one who put this bowl out here isn’t even home right now!” the Luxio says with a smirk. “In fact, I’ll prove it by taking the whole thing with me.”

“Lucas! That’s stealing!” the Minun says with a shocked expression.

“Mikey, this is the only time of the year where we can have boatloads of candy without our parents getting mad about it. Can you stop being such a goody two shoes for just ONE night?” the Luxio says with a chuckle. “Besides, we’re pirates! Pirates steal stuff all the time!”

“I didn’t dress up as a pirate because I like to steal! I just think the hat and the eyepatch look cool!” Micheal says with a slightly annoyed tone of voice. “Anyways, what about all of the other kids who might come to this house? It wouldn’t be very nice to leave them without any candy.”

“Well, you know what I have to say to that, Mikey? You snooze, you lose. If those kids wanted more candy, they should have found this house first.” Lucas says as he picks up the bowl. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more candy to collect.”

However, before the Luxio can do anything of the sort, the two Electric-types hear the sounds of the front door creaking open followed by footsteps on the front porch. Instinctively, the two Pokémon turn around and find themselves staring at a rather tall Delphox with dark purple eyes, a black witches hat on their head, a brown stick in their left hand, and a large, purple dress scattered with golden crescent moons covering the rest of their body.

“Where do you think you’re going, child?” the Delphox says in an authoritative tone of voice. “I’ll warn you in advance that you’re dealing with a witch here, so how about you put that bowl back before you end up doing something you regret.”

A tense silence fills the area for several seconds, though it’s eventually broken by Lucas’ roaring laughter, as he isn’t convinced in the slightest degree.

“Hah! Nice costume, but you’re not fooling anybody!” Lucas says with another laugh. “Everyone knows that witches aren’t real! Sorry to disappoint you, but I don’t believe in fairy tales!”

“L-Lucas! P-please just put the bowl back!” Michael trembles and tugs at the Luxio’s arm, unnerved by the Delphox’s imposing aura regardless of whether she was a real witch or not.

“I don’t know what kinds of fairy tales you’ve been reading, because I’m certainly a real witch.” the Delphox stares at Lucas with a menacing glare. “I suggest you listen to your friend and put that bowl back right now.”

“And what if I don’t? What are you gonna do? Whack me with that skinny little stick of yours?” Lucas retorts with a smug grin.

“Don’t test me, child.” the stick suddenly emits a bright purple flame from its tip. “I’m giving you one last chance to do the right thing. Otherwise, I may have to punish you.”

“Ooooooh, I’m so scared!” Lucas says with a heavy dose of sarcasm before sticking his tongue at her.

“So that’s the choice you decided to make…” the Delphox says in a disappointed tone of voice. “I’ve given you several chances to do the right thing, and yet you continue to act so childish. Very well, if that’s how you’re going to act, then I’ll provide you with a punishment that’s quite fitting for your immature attitude.”

She points her wand at Lucas and a bright flash of purple light suddenly envelops the area. Once the purple light fades away, Lucas is a Luxio no more, for he had regressed back to a little Shinx.

“Hey! What did you do ta me? Why ish evewyting biggah now?” Lucas blushes and covers his mouth, surprised at the fact that he now had a lisp in addition to having a higher pitched voice; he then looks at his own body and quickly realizes what the Delphox had done. “What? I’m a baby now! Why did you do dat?”

“I believe the answer is quite obvious, no?” she looks down at the regressed Pokemon, retaining her disappointed expression. “I simply gave you a form that’s fitting for your immature antics.”

Upon seeing his friend reduced to the form of a toddler, Michael takes off his pirate hat and trembles in fear, as there was now no doubt that she was a real witch. Taking notice of the fearful child, the Delphox’s expression shifts to one of concern and she begins to approach him, but this only causes the Minun to become more frightened than before.

“P-p-please don’t hurt me…” Micheal nervously stammers and starts to brace himself, thinking he’s going to be the next victim.

“Hurt you? Now why would I do such a thing to you, child? You’re not the one who did anything wrong.” the Delphox says to him, shifting from a stern and authoritative voice to one that is gentle and assuring, like a mother consoling her own child.

“B-because I’ve r-read stories about w-witches like you.” Michael anxiously responds. “T-they c-cast curses on others cause they’re v-very mean…” tears well up in his eyes as he continues to tremble.

A dejected frown forms on the Delphox’s face, for it greatly upset her to be depicted in such a demonizing manner, to be so quickly characterized as cruel and heartless.

“It saddens me that my kind is painted in such a negative light. I don’t know where these stories come from, but I can assure you that I’m not a mean witch at all.” she kneels to Micheal’s level and wipes the tears off his eyes. “I may be a witch who gives out punishment, but I am also a witch who is just, and I would never do something as cruel as cursing an innocent child like you.”

“Y-you really mean that? Y-you’re not gonna hurt me?” the Minun anxiously asks her.

“Not at all, child. I promise you’ll be safe with me.” she grabs Micheal’s pirate hat and places it back on his head, causing him to crack a soft smile. “Now, with that settled, it’s only polite that I introduce myself. You can call me Diana.”

“Hi, Diana. My name’s Micheal.” he responds, now feeling more calm and composed.

“Aww, such a lovely name.” Diana smiles and gives him a gentle pat on the hand. “And may I ask who your friend is?”

“Mmhm. His name’s Lucas.” Micheal replies with a nod of his head, though his nervousness comes back for a brief moment. “Y-you’re not gonna hurt him either, right?”

“Oh, you won’t have to worry about that! He’s in good hands with me!” the Delphox says. “Speaking of which…”

Diana then turns around and walks up to the little Pokémon with a cheerful grin on her face, though Lucas wasn’t having any of it; he crosses his arms and stares at the witch with a pouty face, annoyed and agitated at his regressed state.

“I know just the thing for you, little Lukey!” she giggles and gives her wand a playful twirl.

“Hey! Don’t caww me dat!” Lucas stomps his foot on the ground and a scarlet red blush forms on his face, extremely embarrassed by the babyish name he was given.

“Well, if you don’t like that, then perhaps you should have heeded my warnings.” Diana says in a gentle but matter of fact tone of voice. “Anyways, a pirate outfit isn’t suitable for a little baby like yourself. Lucky for you, I’ve got a more cutesy costume in mind.”

POOF!

With a waggle of her wand, Lucas’ pirate costume is replaced with a witch outfit consisting of a purple pointy hat and a dark purple dress, causing the Shinx to become more embarrassed than ever.

“There! Now you can be my little witch for the night!” Diana says with a wide smile. “As for me, I need to assume a form that’s fit for the public eye.”

With another waggle of her wand, the Delphox undergoes a complete overhaul in her appearance. Her pointy hat and her elaborate dress are replaced by a much simpler set of attire, a purple shirt and a pair of black leggings; to the unsuspecting eye, Diana was just another parent looking after her children, another average Pokemon bearing no resemblance to a witch or any kind of spell-casting sorceress.

“That’s more like it!” she says with an approving nod of her head.

“Hey! I don’t wanna weaw dis! I wook so stupid!” says Lucas with another angry stomp of his foot.

“Stupid? Not at all! I think you look absolutely adorable!” she says to him. “Oh! I almost forgot!”

POOF!

A dark orange diaper suddenly appears around Lucas’ waist, peeking out from his purple dress and bearing a black jack-o-lantern face on the back. Struggling to maintain his balance due to the pumpkin themed padding suddenly placed between his legs, the little Shinx wobbles back and forth before falling right on his rump.

“Hmph…why do I hafta weaw dis diapee? How am I supposed ta wawk wif dis?” Lucas asks with an annoyed pout as he slowly stands back up.

“Hehe, you won’t have to worry about walking for the time being.” Diana says to him.

With a swift snap of her fingers, an orange stroller suddenly appears out of thin air, augmented with pumpkin-patterned wheels to commemorate this spooky season. The Delphox then picks up the baby Pokémon and plops him into the stroller, securely buckling him in and placing his basket of candy on his lap.

“Come on! Dis is so stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!” Lucas squirms and thrashes about in his stroller, throwing a temper tantrum just like a toddler would.

“Awww, looks like my little Lukey is getting cranky!” Diana says in a motherly manner. “I know just the thing for that!”

With another snap of her finger, an orange pacifier abruptly appears in his mouth, slightly quelling his angry outburst. Realizing there’s no way to get himself out of this peculiar predicament, the Shinx shrugs and slouches into the stroller, maintaining an annoyed expression while he suckles on his pacifier.

“That should calm you down for a while.” Diana then turns back around to Micheal.
“Now then, it’d be rude of me to have you trick or treating by yourself. Why don’t you tag along with me for the rest of the night, Micheal?”

“Yea, that sounds quite nice, actually.” the Minun replies with a smile, knowing he’d be far too scared to wander off on his own.

After coming to that decision, the night of trick-or-treating goes on, with Diana gently pushing the stroller while Micheal walks beside her. However, even with a merciful and powerful witch by his side, there was still one fear that Michael couldn’t escape from, the fear of the dark, as not even the most powerful of Pokémon can stand against the omnipresent nature of the night sky. With each and every step he takes, Micheal becomes more cautious and apprehensive, worried that some scary creature concealed by the darkness would suddenly attack him.

“Hm, is something the matter, Micheal? You look awfully worried.” Diana asks him, quickly taking notice of his stiff and cautious movements.

“I-I don’t like the dark.” he sheepishly replies. “I-it’s full of s-scary monsters and it’s h-harder to see.”

“Aww, afraid of the dark?” Diana takes one hand away from the stroller and reaches it towards Micheal, gently grasping his free hand. “As long as you hold my hand, you’ll always have something to guide you, and you’ll be safe from any of those mean and scary monsters.”

Micheal looks up at the Delphox and tightens his grip on her hand, a content smile forming on his face as he moves closer to her side. Although he had presumed Diana to be a cruel and conniving witch just a few minutes ago, he was more than happy to have those assumptions proven wrong, as now he not only has someone he can trust and look to for protection, but also someone he can befriend and bond with.

“Thank you, Diana.” he says to her. “Um, sorry for calling you mean earlier.”

“My pleasure, Micheal, though you don’t have to apologize for that!” the Delphox replies. “In hindsight, I might have been a little too scary.” she says with a giggle.

“Hehe, yea! You really scared me at first!” Micheal lets out a little laugh in response, glad to be able to get a giggle out of his timidity.

Unfortunately, there wouldn’t be any laughter out of Lucas anytime soon, as he certainly wasn’t getting any enjoyment out of this experience. All he wanted to do was hit a bunch of houses and fill his bucket to the brim with candy, and yet here he was spending the rest of his Halloween night stroller-bound as a little Shinx.

“Well, looks like we’ve found more houses to hit!” Diana says as they make their way to a nearby neighborhood. “Ok! Up you go, little Lukey!” she unbuckles Lucas and lifts him out of the stroller.

The little Shinx squirms and fidgets in her grasp, indicating that he wants her to put him down. Even if he typically enjoyed the thrill of trick-or-treating, he was far too embarrassed to take part in such an activity now, as he didn’t want to be seen in his regressed state with his cutesy attire.

“Hehe, what’s wrong, Lukey? I thought you liked trick-or-treating!” Diana says with a giggle.

Lucas merely responds with a muffled groan, too flustered to come up with a witty remark. While Micheal walks by her side, Diana makes her way to one of the houses with the baby Pokémon in her arms, setting him down and handing him his basket upon reaching the front door.

“Why don’t you do the honors, Micheal?” Diana says with a gentle smile.

“Ok!” the Minun walks up to the front door and gives it a few knocks.

The sounds of approaching footsteps are heard and a male Meowstic opens the door a few moments later, greeting their guests with a gentle smile.

“Trick or treat!” Micheal smiles back and holds out his bucket.

“Ooh, a pirate! Can’t go wrong with a costume like that!” the Psychic-type plops three pieces of candy into Micheal’s basket before looking at Lucas. “Oh! Is that a cute little witch I see?”

“Indeed it is!” Diana smiles and looks down at the little Pokémon. “Go on, Lukey! What do we say after they answer the door?”

“T-twick ow tweat…” Lucas sheepily replies with a scarlet red blush.

“Awww, so adorable!” the Meowstic happily puts some candy in Lucas’ bucket, though such compliments only cause his blush to intensify.

Wanting to get some enjoyment out of this embarrassing experience, Lucas stuffs his hand into his basket and grabs a handful of candy, but before he can snack on some sweet treats, Diana picks him back up and starts walking him back to the stroller.

“Hey! I want some candy! I want some candy!” Lucas whines and pouts while he fidgets in her grasp.

“Uh uh uh! You can eat your candy later! I don’t want you getting an upset tummy! the Delphox says to him before putting his basket of candy in the bottom compartment of the stroller. “If you’re hungry, I’ve got something much better in mind!”

Diana then grabs a baby bottle from that same compartment before taking the pacifier out of Lucas’ mouth for a brief moment.

“Micheal, you can just wait right there while I feed him, ok?”

“Ok!” the Minun responds with an affirmative nod of his head.

“Now then, open wide, Lukey!” she smiles and moves the bottle closer to his mouth.

Lucas groans and rolls his eyes in response, opening his mouth and accepting the bottle because he has no other choice. Admittedly, the warm and creamy milk was quite tasty to him, though it didn’t get rid of the hot red blush on his face, as he still found it extremely embarrassing to be bottle fed like a little baby.

“My my, such a hungry little boy!” Diana giggles and pats Lucas on the head while he drinks his bottle, putting the little Shinx over her shoulder and giving him a firm pat on the back once he’s finished.

BUUUUUUUURP!!!

Lucas lets out a loud and boisterous belch, causing his blush to intensify.

“My goodness! That was a big burp!” the Delphox buckles him back into the stroller and pops the pacifier back into his mouth for good measure. “Ready to hit some more houses, Micheal?” she asks him.

“Yea! I’m ready!” the pirate costumed Pokémon walks up to Diana and holds her hand again.

The next hour is spent walking from house to house while the two children collect their candy. Though the evening grows darker and darker, Micheal is more than happy to have someone like Diana sticking by his side, someone who’s able to make his fear of the dark a lot more manageable. On the contrary, Lucas wasn’t all that fond of her, as while she wasn’t treating him badly by any means, he certainly wasn’t a big fan of being babied for the remainder of his Halloween night; the only thing making this experience the slightest bit tolerable was the fact that he was still able to completely fill his bucket with candy, though being unable to eat any of it was incredibly annoying to him.

“Alright, I think this’ll be the last house of the night!” Diana tells them upon reaching a large two-story house painted bright orange.

For the first time throughout his punishment, Lucas cracks a smile, as he’s well aware of what’s to come from the big and brightly painted house; regardless of which Pokémon lived there, that house was always known for providing king-size candies to the kids, and Lucas was more than excited to get his paws on one of those.

“Hehe, what are you so happy about?” Diana asks, lifting Lucas out of the stroller and carrying him to the house.

“This house is supposed to be the best one!” Michael says while walking alongside her. “I’ve heard they give out king-size candies every year!”

“Is that so? Then I guess we saved the best house for last!” the Delphox smiles and sets the little Shinx down. “I’ll let you do the honors, little Lukey!”

Lucas slowly waddles his way to the front door, but before he has the chance to knock, a sudden pressure seizes his bowels and his tail abruptly hikes up.

BRAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!

A loud and squishy fart suddenly erupts from his bowels. It had only been an hour since he drank that bottle of milk, but its contents were already approaching their way out, for his bowels had become significantly weaker in his regressed state.

“Oh my! Excuse you!” Diana giggles and waves the foul odor. “Sounds like someone’s about to be a stinky little witch!”

GROOOOOOOOAN!! GURGLE! GURGLE!

Before he can even respond, Lucas’ tummy loudly groans and gurgles as he’s met with an even greater pressure from down below. With the pressure growing and growing each second, the Shinx clutches at his tummy and gets into a squat, his tail hiking up once more before he completely loses control.

BRAAAAAAAAAP!! SPLOOOOOOORTCH!!!

A mushy mess suddenly spills into his diaper, causing it to droop from his dress and stain a dark, murky shade of brown. Even though he emptied himself in just a few seconds, such an act provided him with an eternity’s worth of embarrassment; he thought that being regressed, babied, bottle-fed, and put in a dress would be the limit of his humiliation, but now he had reached the absolute peak of embarrassment after pooping his pants like a little baby.

“Uh oh! Looks like little Lukey needs a diaper change!” Diana giggles and picks him back up.

“Hey! Put me down! I want da king-size candy!” Lucas whines while she carries him away from the house.

“I’m not so sure about that, cause you really stink!” she says before taking him back to the stroller. “A big piece of candy like that is bound to give you a tummy ache, you know!”

While Diana deals with that dirty diaper, Micheal walks up to the front door and gives it a firm knock, being answered by an Audino a few moments later.

“Trick or treat!” the Minun says with a wide smile.

“Why hello there! Didn’t think I’d have more guests this late into the night!” the Audino smiles back at him. “Lucky for you, I’ve still got one more king-sized candy bar left!” she says before placing a big chocolate bar in his basket. “Happy Halloween!”

“Thank you!” Micheal waves goodbye and walks back to Diana with a gleeful grin on his face.

“Wow! That’s a pretty big piece of candy you got there!” the Delphox says to him after diapering Lucas up and placing him back into his stroller. “Now then, are you ready to head back?”

“Uh-huh! I’m ready!” Micheal walks up to Diana and grabs ahold of her hand, walking next to her while the three Pokémon head back to her house.

Never in his life had he expected to meet a witch, much less befriend one, and yet despite this unexpected sequence of events, Michael was quite happy with his Halloween night. However, the same can’t be said for Lucas, as he was very angry over the fact that he missed out on hitting his favorite house.

“Now, what to do with you, little Lukey? Shall I change you back to normal? Has the naughty little boy learned his lesson?” Diana asks shortly after arriving back at her house.

“You such a meanie! You made me miss my favowite house! Stupid stupid meanie!” the Shinx shouts back, far too angry to come to reason with his wrongdoings.

“Hmm…not quite the answer I was looking for. Sounds like the cranky little baby needs to cool down for a while.” Diana says with a disappointed look.

She then carries Lucas inside and summons a black bouncer with a swift snap of her fingers, placing the baby Pokémon inside of it.

“Perhaps a little bit of bouncy time will get you to think about what you’ve done. I’ll be back in a little bit.”

Diana turns around and heads back outside, looking at Micheal with a warm smile.

“Well, now that it’s just us two, I suppose I can switch back to my normal outfit.” she giggles and reverts back to her regular witch outfit.  “All in all, I’d say that was a fun Halloween night, yes? I certainly enjoyed our time together.”

Micheal nods his head in agreement, but his expression suddenly shifts to one of nervousness upon realizing that it won’t be long before they part ways.

“B-but I don’t want you to go. You’re so nice a-and I felt so safe around you.” he nervously stammers. “I-it’s so dark and scary out there…”

“Hm, I think I know just the thing for your fear of the dark.” she summons a large levitating broomstick and sits on the front of it. “Go ahead and take a seat, Micheal. Let’s go for a little ride.”

“Um…ok.” Micheal climbs onto the back of the broomstick and sits behind her, a little confused about what she’s planning to do.

“Alright, now hold on tight! We’re gonna take to the skies!” the Delphox says with a cheerful smile.

Micheal scoots up to Diana and tightly hugs her by the waist before they slowly make their ascent. As they reach a couple thousand feet, he gets a slightly better of the stars scattered throughout the night sky.

“Look at all those stars, Micheal. Quite a beautiful sight, is it not?” she asks him.

Micheal looks up and squints at the stars shining above him, taking note of several stunning sights.

“Woah! That star is so big! Ooh, that one is so shiny! Oooh, and those stars are making shapes!” he says with a stunned expression. “But, um, why are you showing me these stars, Diana?”

“To show you that the night sky isn’t as spooky as it seems.” the Delphox replies. “Whenever you get scared, just think about all of those pretty stars shining in the sky. Think of them like little helpers whose light will guide you when you’re lost, like little friends watching you from above.”

“Well, when you put it that way, that does sound pretty nice.” Micheal says, smiling while he continues staring at the starry sky.

“Mmhm. Sometimes you just need a new perspective to realize that not everything is as scary as it seems.” Diana says with a gentle smile. “Now then, I think it’s time we head back down.”

Diana slowly descends back to the ground and heads back to her home, with Micheal hopping off the broomstick once they reach their destination.

“Thank you!” he says to her, though a slight frown then forms on his face. “Though, now I feel kinda stupid for being so scared of the dark…

Awww, that’s not stupid at all! Everyone’s got something they’re afraid of! Including myself!” she says with a giggle.

“Huh? You’re scared of things too?” Micheal asks with a shocked expression, surprised that such a powerful witch would have something to be afraid of.

“That’s right, and I’ll gladly talk about it!” she says with another giggle. “As a witch, I’ve become acquainted with lots of creepy creatures, but if there’s one creature I can’t stand, it’s spiders. Why Arceus created that eight-legged abomination is beyond me, but whether they’re crawling on the ground or dangling from their silky webs, those things always give me the creeps!”

“Hehe, yea, spiders are kinda scary too!” Micheal says with a little bit of laughter. “I don’t like it when they crawl up my arms. It creeps me out!”

“I know, right? Don’t even get me started on that!” the witch responds with a laugh of her own. “You see? It’s not stupid to be afraid of things! Sometimes our fears give us something to laugh about, something to bond over.”

“Yea, you have a point!” the Minun says with an affirmative nod of his head.

“Now, as much as I'd love to keep talking with you, Micheal, I believe another friend of yours is waiting on me!”

Diana walks back inside and looks at the little Lucas with a warm smile on her face, giggling at the sight of him bobbing up and down in his black bouncer.

“So, has the baby boy decided to calm down?” she asks him.

“Yesh…I sowwy fow steawing…” he says with an annoyed sigh.

“That’s all I needed to hear! You would have been better off apologizing from the get go, y’know!” she picks him up and sets him down, quickly reverting him back to his original form and changing him back into his original costume. “There! I’m not such a mean witch after all, huh?”

“I guess not…” Lucas concedes with a shrug.

“I thought so! Now then, I believe this is yours!” with a quick snap of her fingers, Lucas’ basket of candy appears back in his hands. “Stay safe and stay out of trouble, ok?”

“Uh, sure thing.” the Luxio awkwardly waves goodbye and walks back outside, still trying to process everything that happened within the past hour.

While Lucas was more than relieved to be back to normal, he was still a little annoyed over everything that went down, especially the fact that he missed out on his favorite house.

“Welcome back, Lucas!” Micheal says with a wide smile, though he’s quick to notice his friend’s annoyed expression. “Hm? What’s the matter now?”

“I’m still pretty mad that I missed out on those king sized candies, all because I- ugh, I don’t even wanna talk about it…” the Luxio says with a slight pout.

“Well, if that’s what’s making you upset, then you can have mine!” the Minun smiles and offers his king-sized chocolate bar to him. “I got the last one!”

“Huh? For real?” Lucas asks him.

“Mmhm! Go ahead and take it!” says Micheal with a nod of his head.

As Lucas accepts the candy bar, he realizes a simple yet significant truth, one that he should have known from the very start; at the end of the day, he was punished for only being concerned about himself, all while his friend was rewarded for being concerned about others.

“Thank you, Micheal. You’re too kind.” Lucas says with a soft smile. “Y’know, it wasn’t right of me to call you a goody two shoes. If anything, I should strive to be more like you.”

“Oh, it’s not that big of a deal! I don’t need that candy bar anyways!” Micheal says with a slight blush, a little flustered at all the praise he’s getting.

“Hah, all I wanted was to completely fill my basket with candy, but it’s not like I’ll be able to eat it all on my own!” Lucas says with a playful laugh. “Guess I’ll share some of it with the other kids at school.”

“Yea! I think that’s a great idea!” Micheal happily replies.

“By the way, uh, you’re not telling anyone about this right?” Lucas asks him.

“Nope! My lips are sealed!” the Minun says with a giggle. “Anyways, let’s head back!”

And so, the two friends end their Halloween night on a high note, with Micheal learning to not be so fearful of the dark and Lucas learning to not be so selfish every once in a while, albeit through rather unconventional means. Whether they’d see Diana next Halloween was yet to be known, though the lessons learned from the whimsical witch would surely last for a lifetime.
