To celebrate the release of Sonic 2, I'm returning to the world of the Fleetway comic series, as Tails dons a modified variation of his hero garb during his adventures in the Nameless Zone.

To help the uninformed, the Nameless Zone is a pocket dimension that exists within close proximity to Mobius' reality, and is actually Tails' original home, as it is where all the foxes of the Fleetway series still live. Due to fabrications from Tails when writing back to his home that HE was actually the hero of Mobius and Sonic was his sidekick, he's heralded as a great champion of the Nameless Zone and was called back to aid them in their times of need, which ended up being quite frequent over the course of the series. During these subsequent visits, Tails would don an enchanted suit of armor that would shield him from most attacks, but was also super light, ensuring that he could still fly while wearing it. Also, the suit was tied to the zone, itself, so every time Tails would leave, the armor would stay behind until his return.

Some of the inhabitants had learned that Tails' stories were lies, but due to him still managing to perform heroic deeds while fighting the evils plaguing the zone, the secret has been kept safe from the inhabitants, as he was still a hero in his own right. Due to the series ending prematurely, the fate of the Nameless Zone (as well as the story's progression after the events of Sonic Adventure 1) were left ambiguous (at least officially, as a fan continuation has been going on for years).

Back to the picture, my modifications to the armor were adding pieces for his legs, as the original kept them unarmored, which, while I understand it was probably, story-wise, for the sake of maintaining mobility, it always looked odd to me.
