This guy's got an extra set of legs for some reason! Makes it kinda hard to swim, but he can just walk on the bottom instead. I wonder if the extra space inside him means his lungs are bigger? Though, with his whole body being bigger, he probably needs more oxygen, so it wouldn't help much with breathholding.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: on the seafloor one day was a rather odd looking lizard, it has 4 legs instead of the normal 2 it should have! It's currently looking around at the bottom, pinching it's nose shut and wearing a pair of goggles... swimming by was Bulby the Bulbasaur, wearing his red goggles as he happens to notice this weird lizard, curiously swimming over to them

L: The strange lizard looks over at Bulby and gives them a wave with their free hand, walking on the seabed toward them. "Goblod dably foblr abl diblve, hbluh?"

S: bulby swims over to them and smiles a little
"Sblure is! Bublt...doblnt tablke thblis thble wblrong wblay, bublt yoblu looblk a lblittle weblrid... whblat sblort oblf crblreture ablre yblou?

L: "Ibl'm acbltuablly jublst abl liblzarbld, Ibl dobln't knblow whbly Ibl hblave, yoblu knblow..." He turns some to make his back half more visible.

S: "Ybleah thblats stblrange alblright... bublt hbley I tblhink iblts kibldnda cblool! Yblou loblok cublte pinblching yblour nblose liblke thblat toblo, hehe!"

L: "Hbleh, thblankbls. Noblt albl thblat goblod ablt hbloldbling mbly brbleatblh..." As he says that, the lizard starts to blush a little bit.

S: "Hehe, I noblticed...thblats alblright...iblm noblt thble grbleatest myblself, bublt evblen wiblth mbly shblort limbls I cblould pinblch mbly noblse tbloo" bulby releases a vine whip move and uses that to pinch his nose shut, giggling out a few bubbles as his own face is blushing a little too

L: "Clbleveblr! Wiblsh Ibl cobluld dblo stbluff liblke yoblu Poblkemblon cabln... Anblywably, hblow ablout wble hblead ublp sblo wble cabln tablk moblre clblearbly?"

S: "Sublre, soublnds likble a plblan... cblan yblou swiblm oblk evblen wiblth thblose 4 lblegs?"

L: "Ibl cabln swblim deblcenbltly enblougblh." The lizard hops off the bottom and starts swimming for the surface, though he's a bit slow.

S: "Noblt toblo babld!" bulby slowly follows the lizard upwards, making sure he stays side by side with them in case they needed help

L: It takes a bit of time, but the lizard surfaces, lightly gasping. "Alright, here we are! Don't have to worry about talking out all our air now!"

S: bulby surfaces as well, lightly gasping
"Yep! So I guess we should get introductions out of the way, my name is Bulby! And I'm a Bulbasaur as you can tell, who are you my friend?"

L: "I'm Trevor! I'm glad you're not too weirded out by me having 4 legs, people have kinda bullied me for that before..."

S: "Nice to meet you Trevor! And I'm sorry you've gotten bullied like that, considering I also have 4 legs myself, I don't find you weird at all! Your just unique since lizards typically don't have 4 legs, which I find kinda cool!"

L: "It's always been kind of strange for me, I'm not really anthro OR feral... But overall, I do like being like this, really makes me stand out."

S: "Totally! It's really nice, and I'm glad I happened to meet a friend on one of my dives, it's such a beautiful and sunny day out today, perfect for a dive! So whatcha doing out here? Just relaxing or something?"

L: "Yep, I was just strolling around the bottom to see what I can find. You can come with me if you want, I'll let you ride on my back too!"

S: "Oooh, sounds like fun! I be happy to join you and ride on your back! It's actaully pretty rare that I dive with another person, so this should be a good time"

L: "Alright, perfect! Ready to go whenever you are, and I hope we find something cool down there!"

S: "Me too! Im excited to hang out with you!" bulby happily jumps onto Trevor's back, holding on good and tight as he starts to take a couple of deep breathes to prepare for dive ahead

L: Trevor almost dives, but then he hears Bulby's breathing. "Wait, what's with that deep breathing you're doing? Does that help, or something?"

S: "Oh, yeah... taking deep breathes before you dive can help you hold your breath longer, since you'll be able to store more air in your lungs... that's how I got a breath hold record of about 10 minutes"

L: "Huh... I never knew that! Wonder how long I'll be able to go after doing that, my record is only about 5 minutes." Trevor starts deeply breathing like Bulby.

S: "5 minutes? Yikes! Yeah I definitely think doing some deep breathing like that will most definitely help you! That and practice of course, I'm kinda surprised you didn't know about that, unless you just started to like being in the water"
bulby resumes his deep breathing

L: "I just don't do much swimming, that's all." Trevor continues, planning to wait until Bulby is ready to dive.

S: "Makes sense" eventually after a bit, bulby smiles "Okay, I'm ready to go!"

L: "Alright then!" Trevor takes one more breath before diving, starting to swim back down to the bottom.

S: bulby took a last breath and held it before Trevor dived, the two of them getting to the bottom later on with bulby giving Trevor a puffy cheeked smile

L: Trevor smiles back at Bulby, then starts to walk along the bottom. It seems he has more experience with this than swimming, as he manages a pretty good speed.

S: bulby is quite impressed on how fast Trevor is going, looking around curiously for anything good

L: Some distance away, there seems to be the entrance of a cave! Trevor happily "trots" toward it to look inside.

S: bulby sees the cave and gets excited himself, continuing to hold onto Trevor as well

L: While he's a little bit nervous at the prospect of not being able to go straight up for air, Trevor enters the cave, starting to explore it.

S: bulby was nervous about that too, but tries to keep it in the back of his head as they start to explore the cave, tiny bubbles leaving his nostrils

L: Trevor looks around as he progresses through the cave, making sure to keep track of the way out.

S: bulby keeps track as well, there didn't seem to be anything inside the cave, at first... they start to hear what sounds like somebody sleeping, prompting bulby to yelp quietly and release bubbles at that

L: Trevor stops at the sound of that... But, he thinks to himself that he probably just imagined it, and resumes walking through the cave, patting Bulby to help calm them down.

S: bulby was getting a little nervous that someone could be in here with them as they calm down from the pats...as they inch their way through the cave, the snoring grows louder as they get close, so these two were definitely not imagining anything

L: As Trevor realizes the snoring is real, he pauses again. After a bit of consideration, he decides to just continue far enough to see what it's coming from, trying to be quiet as he does.

S: bulby gets nervous, he's hoping who ever is making the snoring noise is friendly

as they sneak in to see who it is, they see mewtwo sleeping in the cave! Occidental bubbles escape their nose as they sleep peacefully, they seemed like they couldn't breathe underwater, which was interesting

L: Trevor's eyes go wide as he sees the mewtwo, and he stops, unsure whether he wants to stay. As curious as he is about them being able to sleep underwater, disturbing them might not end well...

S: bulby's own eyes go wide as well, it was very much curious about them himself, looking over at Trevor before turning back to the mewtwo, watching it sleep

the mewtwo doesn't sense the two as it continues to sleep with a twitch

L: As he starts to finally blush a little bit, Trevor decides to just leave the mewtwo alone, trying to quietly leave the chamber they're in.

S: bulby was also blushing a little, sticking on Trevor's back as they try to quietly leave the chamber

the mewtwo however opens their eyes and notices the two of them just before they can leave, but they didn't seem to be upset in the moment with how calm they are, soon a voice fills in both of their heads as they yawn out some bubbles

Mewtwo - "...what are you two doing here?"

L: "Mm!" Trevor jumps a little at hearing the mewtwo's voice in his head. He tries to respond by thinking really hard. "W-we're just exploring! We can leave if we're bothering you!"

S: bulby jumps a bit too, but relaxes, thinking about his response as well
Bulby - "Y-yeah, don't mind us!"

mewtwo looks at both of us, but he didn't feel like getting all upset over it, he sits up
Mewtwo - "It's ok, I understand... don't get all uppity about it, you both are brave ones to explore caves like these"

L: "Okay, good... Um, thanks. This is partly to test out how long I can hold my breath, learned a new trick that apparently helps a lot. Sure seems like it is!"

S: Bulby - "Yep, and I helped him with it too!"

Mewtwo - "That's very nice, I'm taking a nap as I can hold my breath long enough for it, I may be a cool legendary pokemon, but even I can't breathe underwater"

L: "You must have some pretty sweet lungs to be able to sleep underwater, I'd love to be able to do that myself..."

S: Bulby - "Me too..."

Mewtwo - "Yep, my record is about an hour and a half, so I can get a good nap in. You both are welcome to come relax with me if you want, I don't mind"

L: "Woah, that long!? That's incredible! And sure, I'll relax in here for a while, but I should probably go breathe fairly soon." Trevor comes over and sits down next to Mewtwo.

S: Bulby - "Same here..." bulby climbs off Trevor for now to sit next to Mewtwo as well

Mewtwo - "That's ok, I can blow some bubbles for you to breathe so you won't have to go surface" Mewtwo gives a very tiny but visible smile, wrapping his arms around Trevor and Bulby

L: "Oh, cool, alright!" Trevor hugs Mewtwo, wagging his tail some and looking forward to seeing Mewtwo make bubbles once it's time.

S: Bulby - "Nice!" bulby also hugs mewtwo and wags his tiny tail as well

Mewtwo - "Just try to relax you two..." mewtwo couldn't help but smile a little more and give both of them a hug back, his tail swaying a little as a very tiny red blush forms on their face, but they still have quite a while until they really need to breathe as they close their eyes

L: Trevor lays down to save on energy, trying to stay calm even as his urge to breathe is slowly growing.

S: bulby also lays down to try and relax even as his own need to breathe slowly grows too

mewtwo moves his hands to gently rub both Trevor and Bulby's chests to hopefully help them stay calm

L: Trevor smiles at the rubbing, and closes his eyes as he pinches his nose like earlier.

S: bulby smiles at the rubbing as well, closing his own eyes and using his vine whip move to pinch his nose shut like before

mewtwo smiles a little more at the two of them trying to relax, he gently continues to pet both of them, he even wraps his long tail around the lizard, all this a rare sighting for someone like mewtwo

L: "You're a lot more friendly than I've heard, Mewtwo... I'm really glad about that."

S: Bulby - "Yeah..."

Mewtwo - "Ah well... I was a cranky pokemon for a while as most people say, but lately I decided to change my attitude finally and be nice for once, that's why I sleep down here sometimes...it helps to relax my body and my temper"

L: "Who would've thought that relaxing down here would help that much..." Trevor finally grunts a little as his blush now just about covers his whole face.

S: "It really does help... just try and stay calm for a little longer..." mewtwo hugs Trevor gently

bulby's face was a little more red but he is doing a little better then Trevor

L: "Bet I'm getting fairly close to my record now, and I still don't feel all that much need for air!"

S: Bulby - "Me neither!"

Mewtwo - "That's great, you two are already improving...I'm impressed, I'm glad I could be here to give you two support"

L: "My friends are gonna be so jealous that I got to hang out with a legendary Pokemon! Can't wait to tell them!"

S: Bulby - "Yeah same, hehe"

Mewtwo - "It's certainly an experience" mewtwo smiles a little more, his own face turning a tad bit more red but is still perfectly fine "You guys know who Mew is do you?"

L: "Yeah, I've heard of them. They're related to you somehow, right?"

S: "Techinally yes, I came from Mew's genes... but me and mew actaully get along really well, haven't seen them in a while tho...sure hope they are doing ok"

bulby finally grunts a little from the need to breathe

Bulby - "I'm sure they are fine..."

L: "They're a legendary too, they've got nothing to worry about!" Trevor squirms a little in discomfort, starting to have a little trouble staying calm.

S: bulby still tries to stay calm for now, but is also having a little trouble now

Mewtwo - "You guys still ok? Would you like a bubble now? I don't wanna push you too far"

L: "J-just a bit longer, I want to wait until I'm going blue... I-if that's okay..."

S: Bulby - "T-think ill do the same..."

Mewtwo - "Well, alright then...just don't go too far ok?" mewtwo continues to watch over the two of them as they hold their breath

L: "Y-yep, I know..." Trevor isn't able to relax any more, squirming and grunting while he starts to struggle a little. At this point he's not really sure he'd be able to surface in time, so he's trusting Mewtwo to help.

S: pretty soon, bulby is feeling the same way, grunting a bit more as he can't relax anymore either, his face fully red

mewtwo grows a little concerned for the two, but keeps quiet for now

L: Before much longer, Trevor's face finally starts turning blue. While he can't really see that, he wants to breathe now anyway. "O-okay, give me a bubble!"

S: bulby turns a little blue himself, wanting to breathe as well
Bulby - "Me too!"

Mewtwo - "Okay, got it...good job you two!" mewtwo then makes 2 big bubbles and bulby carefully inhales one of them, his face returning to normal before pushing the other one to trevor

L: Trevor quickly inhales the bubble pushed to him, his blush fading away. "Alright, thanks. That definitely felt like longer than I've held my breath before!"

S: Bulby - "Same here if I'm honest!"

Mewtwo - "You both did very well, now how about we go to the surface and get some fresh air? I havent surfaced with how tired I was..." mewtwo's face is turning fully red because he had to use his own air for the bubbles, letting out a very quiet grunt of strain

L: "Right, yeah, you need to breathe too. Sure, let's head back." Trevor gets up and starts walking back through the cave.

S: bulby hops on Trevor's back again as they start to head back out

mewtwo slowly follows them close behind, he still had a while before he would reach his true limit, but he would like to breathe soon

L: Trevor thankfully remembers the way out, and soon enough the exit comes into view again. "Alright, just about there."

S: eventually they get to the exit and go back out into the open water
Mewtwo - "Good, just a straight shot upwards, let's get going" mewtwo then starts to swim up to the surface

L: Trevor hops off the bottom and starts following Mewtwo, though he can't quite keep up with them. "Slow down a little, I'm not that good at swimming!"

S: Bulby - "Yeah!"

mewtwo chuckles a little then slows down so Trevor can keep up

Mewtwo - "My apologies, I didn't know... I don't mind slowing down for you"

L: "It's fine, I'm getting used to it." Trevor swims alongside Mewtwo as the surface gets closer.

S: Soon the trio reach the surface and bulby and Mewtwo gasp in the air and sighs happily

Mewtwo - "Ah fresh air, I sure missed it"

Bulby - "Me too..."

little does mewtwo know, he is about to see Mew for the first time in ages

L: "Yeah, bubbles are pretty cool, but fresh air is definitely better."

Just then, there's a flash nearby, and Mew appears, having teleported in for some swimming of her own! She doesn't notice the group yet, though.

S: "I agree!"

Mewtwo - "....hmm... I'm getting some weird energy vibes going through here...almost as if someone is here..." mewtwo looks around and then he happens to notices mew in the distance, he gasps
"Omg, it's mew! Mew!!!! I'm over here!!!"

L: Trevor: "Wait, Mew?"

Mew looks over at the sound of Mewtwo calling her. "Oh, hi!" She happily floats over and gives Mewtwo a hug.

S: Bulby - "...No way!"

mewtwo gives a big smile, his tail even wags a little as he hugs mew back

Mewtwo- "Oh mew, I missed you so much! What the heck are you doing here?"

L: Mew: "I just teleported to a random spot in the ocean for some swimming, and I guess I just happened to end up right near you!"

Trevor: "Ha, that's a neat coincidence!"

S: Bulby - "Yeah it sure is! How cool!"

Mewtwo - "Oh, I see! Well I was napping in my cave underwater when these two showed up to say hello" mewtwo gestures to bulby and Trevor

bulby acts a little shy but smiles up at mew

Bulby - "Hi mew..."

bulby is still a little starstruck that now he's meeting both mewtwo and mew at the same time

L: Trevor: "Hi! We were actually just talking about you not too long ago, it's so cool to actually meet you!"

Mew: "And it's cool to meet you two, as well!"

S: Mewtwo - "Me and mew go way back, and I'm glad we're really good buddies now"

Bulby - "I bet I'll be cool to swim with both of you guys now!"

L: Mew: "Yeah, we may as well all swim together, since we're here!"

Trevor: "I'd totally be down for that!"

S: "Me too!"

Mewtwo - "Sounds like a good time, I'll be happy to do that"

L: Mew: "Alright, everyone get ready to head under!" She and Trevor start deeply breathing.

S: Bulby - "Will do!"

Mewtwo - "Let's do it then"

both bulby and mewtwo start to breathe deeply as well

L: After a little while, Mew dives under with a last deep breath, and Trevor quickly does the same.

S: bulby takes a last deep breath before Trevor dives underwater since he was still riding on his back

mewtwo holds his own breath and dives underwater as well, joining them

L: Trevor smiles at everyone around, and Mew joins in on the telepathic connection.

Mew: "So, where to first?"

Trevor: "We just came from that cave down there, but I'm sure there's more stuff around."

S: Mewtwo - "I say we keep looking around the seabed for anything interesting"

Bulby - "I agree, hey mew how long can you hold your breath?"

L: Mew: "I can go a little over an hour. Mewtwo's always been better at that than I am."

Trevor: "Man, you too? Guess being a legendary Pokemon's really got some perks!"

S: "Daaaaang, wow! I'm so jealous!"

Mewtwo - "Heh, me and mew used to do breath holding contests all the time, and every single time I end up beating her, although she's definitely gotten better over the years...she ain't ever gonna surpass me" mewtwo gives a small smirk as they all start to swim down to the seabed again

L: Mew: "One of these days I'm gonna finally win one of those!"

Trevor: "You've definitely got a long way to go to manage that..." He starts strolling along the seabed again in search of something else interesting.

S: Bulby - "Trevor is right... heh..." bulby also looks around for anything else interesting too

Mewtwo - "Yeah, she's got quite a few ways to go, but who knows maybe she will get lucky and win one" mewtwo also takes a look around

Bulby - "And I'm guessing you both don't need swim goggles and can see perfectly fine down here?"

L: Mew: "Yep, I've always been able to see clearly underwater."

Trevor: "I bet goggles would still look good on you two."

Up ahead, a reef is coming into view!

S: Mewtwo - "So have I, you know we could transport in goggles so you can see what we look like with them on, I don't mind and look a reef!"

Bulby - "Hehe... I would LOVE to see that! Oooh, cool a reef!"

L: Mew: "Yeah, I could bring in some goggles real quick!" As the group continues toward the reef, Mew holds out her hand, and with a flash like when she first appeared, goggles appear in her hand. While the goggles are full of water, she puts them on regardless. "How's it look?"

Trevor: "I was right, they DO look good!"

S: "Omg you look so adorable with those on mew!"

Mewtwo - "My turn" mewtwo holds out his own hand and with a flash goggles appears in his hand, once again full of water. Mewtwo then puts them on as well
"Well? What do you think?"

L: Trevor: "Yeah, yours look good too!"

Mew: "Hehe, these goggles wouldn't be doing a thing for us if we actually needed them..."

S: "Nope! Heh..."

Bulby - "I think mewtwo looks cooler with them on! Would you kind if you guys kept on them for the rest of this dive?"

Mewtwo - "Sure why not! Haven't worn swimming goggles in a while so I don't see why not"

L: Mew: "May as well, sure!"

Trevor: "Nice, 'cause yeah, Bulby's right about you two looking better with them on."

S: Bulby - "Hey we're wearing goggles too! And I bet we look good!"

Mewtwo - "Oh you both look real good with them on! Anyways, let's explore this reef"

L: Mew: "Yeah, I like yours too!" The group heads into the reef to explore. There's lots of fish around, quite a few of which don't mind the group's presence.

S: Bulby - "Thanks!" bulby's face a little red, but doesn't mind it for now, looking at all the different fish

mewtwo looks at the fish too with a small smile, a few bubbles trailing from his nostrils

L: Trevor: "Man, a lot of these are pretty cute!" He sits down as he looks around at the fish.

Mew: "They sure are, yeah!"

S: Mewtwo - "They are quite pleasant creatures" mewtwo sits down next to Trevor to watch the fish as well, his tail casually swaying a little

bulby gets off Trevor to sit down on his own next to him, he then uses a vine whip move to give a few passing fish a pet

L: Mew joins Bulby in petting some of the fish, while Trevor watches the two, swaying his tail and putting an arm around Mewtwo.

S: bulby giggles out some bubbles as some of the fish start to playfully tickle him with their nuzzles, he then turns to Mew and gives her a big hug

mewtwo smiles at the sight then wraps his own arm around Trevor, and even resting his head against theirs a bit as well

L: Mew hugs Bulby back, happily giggling bubbles of her own. Some of the fish the two had been petting decide to stay with them for now, as well.

S: hearing mew's happy giggles made bulby giggle out bubbles some more, continuing to hug Mew as he's starting to really like her

mewtwo then gently holds a fish in their hand and lightly pets it, then he wraps his tail around Trevor and gets even more comfortable with them, causally releasing bubbles from his nostrils

L: Trevor: "It's been a long time since I've had this good a time underwater..." He puts his tail around Mewtwo.

Mew: "Same here, this is great!"

S: bulby blushes a bit more, both from the need to breathe and being with Mew
Bulby - "I'm definitely...enjoying myself!"

Mewtwo - "Me too..." mewtwo sighs out some bubbles then gives Trevor a hug, using some special psychic power to sooth them, slowly enjoying Trevor's company as well

L: Mew does the same with Bulby, helping them feel even more calm and relaxed.

With Mewtwo's help, Trevor is so relaxed he feels like he could just fall asleep right there.

S: bulby is just as relaxed, even as his face is almost fully red, he doesn't care with how calm he is, also almost feeling like he could fall asleep, only little tiny bubbles escaping him
Bulby - "This.....feels really....nice..."

mewtwo continues to hug Trevor, rubbing their back as well

L: Trevor: "Y-yeah, this is...I......" He's unable to finish that thought, and his head droops some as he falls asleep, even while he's still holding his breath.

Mew: "You can sleep if you want, we'll make sure you won't drown."

S: Bulby - "So.....relaxing..." bulby eventually fall asleep as well, his head resting against mew's as his body continues to hold his breath

Mewtwo - "Awww... yeah we'll be sure you dont drown" mewtwo gets comfortable and closes his own eyes to rest as well

L: Mew heads over to Mewtwo and settles down onto the bottom, bringing Bulby over. "I bet they'll think it was neat to sleep underwater once they wake up."

S: "Mmmhm..." the quartet all relax together for a good while, probably about 45 minutes in all, that's when bulby starts to shift around uncomfortablely from his need for air, his face blue at that point

L: Trevor's face is blue too, and there's occasional little whines from him as he gets increasingly restless.

Mew is straining as well, with a fully red face by now, but she's staying calm.

S: mewtwo is also slightly straining as well, with a bit of a red face

eventually bulby shoots awake, covering his mouth and bubbling out constantly

Bulby - "....Air! I need air!" he immediately bolts to the surface

L: Trevor finally wakes up just after, bubbles constantly trailing from his mouth. "MMM! N-need air!" He jumps off the bottom and starts swimming up too.

Mew follows the two to make sure they'll surface okay.

S: mewtwo follows them up as well, and soon everyone surfaces and they all gasp for air a bit heavily, bulby's face returning to normal

Bulby - "Hah...hah...hah.... phew... wow, that felt really refreshing, I can't believe I fell asleep down there!"

L: Trevor: "Th-that's so cool... N-never thought I'd get to sleep underwater!"

Mew: "And you two went a REALLY long time, too! Think that was about 45 minutes or so!"

S: "Huh?! Are you serious?! I never thought I could do that! Amazing!"

Mewtwo - "Very impressive you two, now I imagine you both are pretty tired after all this, you should get some rest... me and mew actaully have a few things we need to catch up on together" mewtwo puts an arm around mew

L: Trevor: "Yeah, definitely need a break from swimming for now..."

Mew: "I hope we get to hang out with you guys again sometime!"

S: "Yeah, come back to my cave anytime... that's usually the spot I'll be sleeping if you find me"

Bulby - "Awesome! I cannot wait until next time, but yeah I definitely need a break"

mewtwo gives bulby and Trevor one more hug goodbye before he teleports away in a flash of light

L: Mew waves goodbye to the two before disappearing as well, knowing exactly where Mewtwo wants her to go.

Trevor: "Alright, hop onto my back, we'll head back to shore."

S: bulby sighs sadly when mew left

Bulby - "I'm gonna really miss mew, she was so cute... I really like her" bulby then hops onto Trevor's back "Let's get going then"

L: "Yeah, those two were really fun... But I'm sure we'd be able to ask Mewtwo to see if she can come by next time we hang out with him." Trevor swims back to shore with Bulby on him.

S: "Yeah good thinking"
and so the two safely make it back to shore and rest together after a very unexpected dive with two awesome legendary pokemon!
