Team Rescuers hurries to the town square, pushing some bystanders aside. Once they reach the center, they stop before two purple pokemon standing in the middle. The two pokemon have their arms crossed as they stare back at them.
“The ghost bandits!” shouts Jay, getting into a ready stance with the others. “We have you both, now!”
Gem claps as Gas hovers next to her. Both smile with evil grins. “Bravo, Team Rescuers. Well done.”
“What kind of mockery is this?!” demands Miffy. “What are you two pulling?”
“It was hard to try and catch up to us, so we made it easy for you. However, it wouldn’t be fair without some friends.”
“Team Rescuers!” Benny shouts from behind them, causing them to turn. She stands in a ready stance with Zach, Mora, and Nate alongside her. “Your days of lying and arrogance are at an end! We’ve informed everyone of your prejudice, and now we’re here to put a stop to it!”
“You think you can beat us?!” Casey yells. “You’re a fool to think so!”
“You can’t win!” Jay claims. “Even with the ghost bandits, you’re outmatched!”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Zach says. The team’s allies appear one-by-one: Jackson, Huey with his grandmew, Valentin, Manny, Gas’ father, Elise and the Green Team. “You’re not the only ones with high recognition.”
“United we stand!” Nate comments. “And now we get to kick your butts!”
“You have overstepped the boundaries, Team Adventurers,” Ezma utters. “You’ve gone too far and set everything on fire!”
“You lit everything up!” Benny adds. “And now, it’s time to smother the flames.”
“You’ll all pay for this!” Jay is the first to strike, firing his water gun move at the fennekin. Zach gets in the way to block it, protecting Nate, then attacks him with his quick moves. Soon, everyone collides into the quarrel. The pokemon exchange moves with one another, locked into a stalemate.
Zach and Cindy then face each other off.
“Well, well, well,” Cindy begins. “If it isn’t aura boy. Still miss this cute celebi?”
“Not at all!” The riolu hits her with force palm, knocking her back.
Jay tries to take down the fennekin. “I’ll kill you when we’re done!”
“Not likely!” Nate ducks down to avoid Jay’s water stream then extends his paw to the spot between the buizel’s legs, causing him to whine and collapse. “That’s for being mean to my Benny!” After being done with the water pokemon, he helps Benny and Elise take down the scraggy and gligar when they were down. “No one ever touches my buneary!”
Benny gets up and hugs the fennekin, causing him to blush. “My hero!” Mora helps Valentin and Jackson take care of the eevee and monferno before the team regroups together.
Ezma is the last pokemon left. She struggles to sit up as the gang surround her. “Beaten by a bunch of outcasts? This can’t be!”
“We may be outcasts, but we’re still pokemon,” Mora says.
“Not all of you!” She looks to the riolu in the blue bandana. “You’re not a pokemon.” Zach narrows one eye. “Yeah, I know where you come from, Zach. You’re a human, from another dimension.” Everyone looks at him.
“What…?” Benny utters. “You’re another creature of some sort?”
“Whoa,” Mora comments. “That’s cool!”
“So what?” asks Zach.
“And now, here you are,” Ezma continues. “If you spare me, I can help you get back. You can go home.”
Zach looks at his gang, who stare at him, speechless, then back at Ezma. “No thanks. I already got comfy.” The green team restrain her when they pick her up. “Speaking of which, I suggest you get comfy wherever you and your team are going.”
“You will pay for this! You, and your meddling team!” The mew and her team are dragged away. Zach turns back to his friends.
“Zach, why didn’t you tell us?” Benny questions. “We could’ve helped you find a way home.”
“I am home,” the riolu tells her, smiling. “You and Nate have been by my side, and I got used to it. Besides, I love adventure! It’ll be an honor to be by both of you! And to live in harmony with everyone here.” Mora and everyone else give him a smile.
“Guess that means you’re sticking around huh?” asks Nate. Zach chuckles in response and messes his hair. “Hey!” Everyone laughs.
