I've often wondered whether the "common" depictions of the motion of multifurry-type bodies might not match with their "actual" motion--or rather, if the motion that results most often from artists' depictions might not be what someone who has to use the body would end up doing. One of my questions is around three-legged gaits, and I haven't found the alternative I've imagined yet.
However, searching for "tripod gait" or something like that did bring me to https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14494 , an article exploring whether and when the usual insect gait is the best available to a hexapod. It seems that insects have to deal with stability and how well they adhere to non-floor surfaces, because if they didn't, the authors' simulation suggests a gait where the feet step as three pairs is faster than one where they step as two triples.
This animation doesn't capture all the details, and the proportions I've given this stick figure of Bertha might not totally work, but I feel this needs to be seen. (Joke keyword: those_are_four_shoulders)
Also, https://www.wickeditor.com/#/ is new to me, and seems like it might fill the hole left by Flash. It's what I used for this, so I can somewhat recommend it.
