Here's a summary of the first episode

Takuya Enoki loses his mother, Yukako, when she dies in a car accident. Takuya now lives with his father, Harumi, and his baby brother, Minoru. Takuya's baby brother is only two years old and requires much care. Although Takuya is only a fifth grader, he cooks, cleans, sews, scolds, and does everything that is normally a mother's job. Between his housework and looking after his baby brother, Takuya begins to feel a helpless gap between his friends who have fun every day after school. The Kimura family blame him for Minoru's constant crying. His stress gradually builds up and bursts at a point. Because of a mistake Minoru made, Takuya reacts violently. He cannot help feeling upset over Minoru, who is stressing him and taking up all his time.

One day, when Takuya picks Minoru up from preschool, he starts to walk faster imagining what it would be like to leave his little brother behind him. But soon, Takuya realizes what he has done and runs back. He finds Minoru with his eyes full of tears and a brutal dog is blocking Minoru's way. Takuya dashes in full speed and saves his little brother. After coming home and seeing Minoru sobbing, Takuya realizes that Minoru cries because he is just lonely and becomes ashamed of himself. From then on, Takuya learns to love his little brother as family and his long life story of being a mother and a brother at once begins.

I think I'd be more interested in Kimba given it was basis for The Lion King, and it's an old anime. The older classics are so much better, don't you think?

I suppose it depends on your preference. Anime back when Kimba the white Lion (Jungle Emperor Leo in Japan) was not as popular compared to when it hit big in the 80s and 90s, but it certainly did have its trailblazers like Osamu Tezuka who created Kimba and Astro Boy and a plethora of other notable Mangas and animes .

Yea. They may have had their fans back then, but anime didn't explode into the mainstream as much as it did in the 80s when more animes came out with quality animation to them. I'm sure you've noticed how Kimba is quite limited in its animation fluidity

I think I'm starting to like Kimba though to be honest. Sure Disney stole from it for The Lion King, but Kimba's a really interesting show.

I'd agree. It deals in more with the balance of jungle law and dealing with humans and trying to befriend them. Not to mention some more darker themes.

Plus Cub Kimba's VA kind of sounds more like the person who voiced Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. You familiar with the Rankin/Bass specials?

Oh of course I am. Though Billy Lou Watt (Kimba's voice) did not voice Rudolph. That would of been Canadian voice actress Billie Mae Richardson who also voiced Tenderheart Bear in movies 1 and 2 and Bright Heart Raccoon later in the Care Bears Family series.

Well, before that, Billy also did voices for the English dub of Astro Boy voicing the boy himself. She even worked on the English dub of the anime Gigantor

Yea, Astro Boy and Gigantor were done before Kimba was done since both those animes were in black and white.

Yeah it's very interesting, how Kimba tries to introduce human customs and culture to the jungle and has to deal with antagonistic animals, and despite being a kid, he's still the leader of the animals. Tom and Tab kind of sound like Banzai and Ed, don't they?

This is from the later episodes, I'm not sure if you watched them yet. I really love classic Kimba. It's one of the few old-school animes without dark/evil themes.

I watched about 20 episodes, though for some reason not all episodes are on Pluto TV. I may have to check around to see if all the episodes are on Retro Crush, which supplies Pluto with the episodes.

Retro Crush does have a Youtube channel, but its a streaming service where you watch the full episodes and its free. Pluto TV is also a streaming service, but also has its own channel system like live tv that you can watch shows and they'd have commercial breaks to them and such. It too is also free.

Well, I do like me some violent media for sure. I do play M rated games and watch M rated movies. I wouldn't mind some in anime. I guess it depends on what anime draws me in. I'm told Berserk is a pretty dark and amazing series.

I think so. They're action packed, but maybe not as violent as Berserk since thats more on the level of adult and Voltron and Robotech seem more Teenager/older teenager demographic.

Its about a boy who fell into a cursed hot spring (as well as his father) that turns him into a girl whenever he touches cold water and back into a boy when touching hot water. His father a panda with the same effects of water as well.

He is arranged in marriage to his fathers friends who has three daughters and the youngest Akane was the one that was selected. The two cant stand each other, with Akane getting into comedic outburst and attacking Ranma, but the two learn to cooperate and get along as the series progress. It takes place in their dojo home in the 80s as well as the high school they both go to and they get into some conflicts with other kooky characters along the way like a guy who is terrible at directions, a helpless lovestruck Shakespearian samurai, and a cheerleader who uses clubs and her ribbon to fight to name a few.

The series was created by a female Manga artist named Rumiko Takahashi, she is also famous for the manga Inuyasha

If it was, It must of been during a time I wasn;t watching the block. I've rarely watched it when I was young since it was up past my bedtime. I caught maybe one broadcast of Dragon Ball Z back in the day, but that was about it.

Lakeisha is the older sister of Zuberi. He was adopted into her panther family while he is a rare white lion cub.

Well, I was inspired by Kimba the White Lion for sure, but just that I wanted to make a white lion as a contrast to the Howls Angels in Pink Panther and Sons who are all lions just to show that not all lions are bad.
