A dam broke and flooded the field this sunflower was in! They've been able to sustain theirself with just photosynthesis so far, but with each cloud that passes by and partially blocks the sunlight, their need to breathe gets worse. At this point, just one more cloud would push the poor plant past their limit, forcing far more water than they'd like down their stem...

The sunflower's eyes go wide and they shudder, doubling over, finally not able to hold back from breathing any more. Their leaf-hands lift from their mouth and water rushes in, immediately causing them to start choking.
