The first stages of its existence would be to grow inside dirt, mesh or other instances such as a body granted it is fatal that slimes grow inside of a body. Water is a key component to advancement to the next stage of its life which is the mobile stage. if no water is around, then it will settle with eating the ground or anything nearby.
