Character Description
A fiery little diva, as a direct descendant of Shukri, one of the old warlord Shomari's closest men, his "King's Hand", and General Assassin, she has always dreaded the large shoes she's had to fill.
Thankfully, there was someone in her childhood that helped to keep her sane, and encouraged her playful prankster persona: Shujaa.
Shujaa belongs to my wonderful
Personality
Araz is, as her nickname suggests, quite the spitfire.
She's impulsive, brash, short-tempered and impatient, but also outgoing, quick to make friends and has always had a mischievous streak in her.
She's is quite professional in her position at the court, but absolutely hates the pressure her family has put on her, as they expect her to become the next General Assassin. A title she neither cares much for, nor wants. But as a member of the Siyah Eller, families are as close and absolute for her as everyone else.
Background/History
Araz is the eldest of three siblings, born in a very high class military family of a long line of royal assassins and heralds, known as the "Black Hands".
As those before her, she was trained in the arts of stealth, shadows and espionage at a very young age to one day serve the court of the royal family of Amani.
While she takes her duties seriously, she would give anything to live a different life. A life of her own choosing, rather than her family's.
When she was seven, she met someone who would soon become very close and special to her; Prince Shujaa, a descendant of none other than her great grandfather's brother-in-all-but-blood; Lord Shomari.
Ofcourse, Shujaa was so far back in line that he could hardly be referred to as prince anymore, and was like Araz training to join the royal army. But as a knight of Order of the Protectors Royal, rather than the Black Hands.
The two clicked, and as both were very high energy, mischievous kids they would often get themselves in trouble on a daily basis. Especially when they snuck away from their training to play instead.
For years they were as thick as thieves, and one would rarely be seen without the other.
But one day, the pair would be split up when Araz was sent to advance her training at the Temple of Ithunzi, the god of shadows and secrets, in the Siyah Eller ancestral home previously known as the Lunar Kingdom.
The two friends wouldn't see each other for well over a decade.
Araz had never felt as lonely as she did now without Shujaa, so she began to focus harder on her schooling and training to take her mind away from the pain and loneliness.
The years at the temple felt like eternities, and it wasn't until she was 21 that she was allowed to return home to the capitol of Amani.
Where she had recently heard the news of a newly knighted member of the Royal Protectors, and decided to sneak uninvited into his post-knighting ceremony. Which was very easy for her now as a full fledged Black Hand.
Well there at the ceremony, it didn't take long for her to spot her old childhood friend. He had grown from a lanky, geeky looking kit, to a tall, handsome todd. She almost didn't recognize him.
After some hiding in the shadows, she decided that their friendship was still important to her, too important to let go, and revealed herself to him. Leading him away to a secluded spot, so they could properly embrace and reunite without anyone else around.
She realized just how much she had missed him, and just how much it had hurt to be without him. Hearing his voice speak to her again filled her with joy and warmth.
The thought of them joining and serving the court together made the future feel bearable.
After they spent more time together at the ceremony, it soon became clear to Araz that her old feelings of love and siblinghood she had felt for her childhood friend, had grown into something stronger...
