In march 2621’s dawn, the main team found a huge flaw at Odereon’s Operational Base, most precisely in the Energy Core’s room.
With the aid of high technology equipment, it 's possible to extract energy from the Base' s cores, and send it all across the entire region. Although All the equipment were fully operational, the flaw only was detected 19 minutes before the possible overload, which would culminate in a chain explosion, destroying not just the Base, but a 8km area surrounding it.
In order to avoid the worst scenario, some crew members ran to the core 's room, found the malfunction equipment and tried to fix the flaw, without success. Remaining 3 minutes to the explosion, the crew managed to redirect the overloaded energy through the other cores but they had to activate the safety protocol manually,so they could seal the malfunction core and avoid the explosion from reaching the other cores. Even not able to avoid it’s core’s explosion, they made it weaker enough to don’t spread through the other chambers, avoiding the chain explosion.
The 12 crew members that were brave enough that night to be risking their lives to save the base. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to save 4 of them. The other 8 members were rescued fast enough so they could be sent to the healing quarter while still alive. Some members managed to recover themselves naturally, while others needed to go through experimental treatments to have a chance to recover. 9 months after the incident, three crew members managed to recover completely, and they were sent back to their chores in the base, with a Hero medal.
Further investigations found out that one of the victims that hadn’t made it was the one responsible for the failure, being able to be spotted hours before the possible explosion and corrected in time. It also showed it was a human failure, with no signals of any planning on it happening.
It was ordered that the investigation should still continue, but the main focus would be the recovery and rehab of the crew members. All of them were sent to different medical sections, to run exams and studies about the treatment effects. There’s the list of the crew members and their stats or locations:
- Taylor Fronnier | recovered in 3 months | experimental treatment: N |
- Felix Thargon | recovered in 3 months | experimental treatment: N |
- Kevin Baxter | recovered in 3 months | experimental treatment: Y |
- Patricia Vinson | currently in observation | experimental treatment: Y | area 32
- Alice Fooster | currently in observation | experimental treatment: Y | area 33
- Mikahel Y. Serizade | currently in observation |experimental treatment: Y | area 34
- Gustavo Yumako | currently in observation | experimental treatment: Y | area 35
- Kola K. | currently in observation | experimental treatment: Y | area 36
The treatment consists in molecular exposure to RGS rays, leading to a short physical regression from their bodies to a younger moment, and then clear any acquired injuries or anomalies.
While the exposure to RGS rays focus on a short time regression, leaving them around one or two years younger, it was necessary for most patients to stay exposed for a longer period, and then have a long term regression. The long term regression can be reverted, but the process is way more dangerous, as none of the testers managed to reach their normal age for some unknown reason.
There’s no available data from the previous testers to keep their identities protected. The current crew members going through this experimental treatment are regressed from a minimum of 13 years to a maximum of 28 years. That’s all what the Higher Command allowed to tell.
The Odereon’s Operational Base will support all victims and experimental testers, in order to help their recovery and they can restart on their functions, helping Odereon.
