All Miles wants is to find a version of himself that is also interested in, and hopefully able to, use magic. And it seems he found a buddy after long last! You can tell he's comfortable as he's shed his clothes, showing off the white coloring of his legs that makes him different from other versions of Tails.
Whatever is in that tome definitely has Tails' interest, and he's happy to explain it to the more mystified fox.
