It has been 2 years since I last went swimming. The pandemic made it impossible for me to go swimming, not just because of the virus, but because if I did swim, and got it, I could potentially infect others, which is far worse.
So, this New Year's Day, I was given the chance to swim while on vacation with my family. What made things even better was the fact that I had the whole pool all too myself, as we had reserved the small pool for the afternoon (For context, my family rented a space in a townhouse for the New Year, and there was a small pool shared by the houses. Given the state of my country at the time we had to reserve a time slot to use the pool, so that it could be safely used by everyone.) and as my folks wanted to stay indoors, it was just me.
Being in water, and more importantly, underwater, was such a wonderful feeling that I so deeply missed. Being able to feel weightless, to swim around as elegantly as a mermaid, making circles or diving deep underwater, it felt like I was home again. I spent so long just floating underwater, my thoughts filled with ideas, plans, the future. I felt inspired, rejuvenated, ready to take on the world even. Swimming, after 2 years of being unable to, was the best thing that happened to me, and I intend to ride with this feeling for the rest of 2022.
More things are on the horizon for me, especially creatively. I hope y'all would join me on my journey, and I wish all of you a wonderful and happy New Year~ <3
I love you all :D
