The last few days were a blur to the cub. Life with her pride had come to an abrupt end after their king wasn't the one that returned from patrol. The scramble to run, getting separated from the older lionesses, was probably the one thing that saved her life, following her mothers words to not look back. The first two days she almost didn't stop, crossing the border of her old territory and out into the world beyond, pausing just long enough to catch her breath, or steal scraps from some vultures already fat off the better leftovers from something else's meal. Eventually exhaustion would win out though, and the cub tucked herself into a crook between the roots of a lone tree.
