*Meanwhile me, who did read a variety of books on ancient, medieval and reneissance siegecraft* I would raise a finger now, and point out what they could have done with that "great" Wall of theirs within the centuries of their Kingdoms existance... but we have allready been there and you mentioned a number of things they could have done on your own on this very page. x3

As a bit of a side note, I love the Detail you invested into the design of the Ballista.

hehe, i have the problem that i have characters that know more than me on the subject. Luckily my husband is a war-nerd as well so what i know i've learned mostly through osmosis lol! My subject of interest lies more within the sociological, agricultural and architectural parts of history
i comfort myself with the fact that this story takes place in a pre-medieval/ancient times fantasy realm which has some age-breaking medieval and renaissance technology as well complete fictional aspects in it uwu

thank you so very much tho! I remember much swearing and headbashing when drawing that thing, so i really appreciate that! XD

I am far from an expert, so you will not find me actively levying criticism towards your choice/ ideas in regards of fortifications. You are actually pretty close to how many civilizations handled their fortifications, be it dedicated military outposts, or fortified cities. You explained within the comic, and very well at that. That the Fen-Fens did not have to ward off enemies this well equipped to wage siege-warfare. My guess is that they had to deal more or less with marauders. I see the "great Wall" as a testament to that. The General is pointing things out he may have seen during travels, getting a good look at a foreign states Cities and their defenses can teach you a lot. It becomes problematic if you do not put this new knowledge to work, or even worse, are actively blocked by the ruling establishment.

pshawww, thank you! I'm very happy to have such attentive readers~ ;w; <3
oooh the General... hopefully the next pages will be very interesting, as this gentleman has certainly seen a LOT of shit in his days lol. And i just wish i would've had more time to properly show how much his people's attitude to warfare drives him up the walls XD

Did they only have a limited supply of that Greek fire stuff?

yes, a large quantity with the materials to make more; but a quantity nonetheless

I see.  The way they were talking about it, and with how their society works, I thought they might have only had stuff sitting around from the ancient kings day.
