Fun fact: Yule logs or bûche de Noël are a type of chocolate cake common in the Francophone world, and are based off of the other Yule log, which is basically a log burnt on the fireplace every night from Christmas to Twelfth Night (January 6) and then placed under the bed for luck and symbolic protection against lightning and fire.
