some indulgent drawings of a pairing i've been drawing recently, ruby and her uncle qrow... very specifically, drawing his crow form being interacted with :3
qrow's in-show crow model isn't so exciting, but I understand the CG is limited & most people do not think very hard about birds. so! i've taken the liberty of tweaking it for my personal satisfaction. i feel like qrow should be very scruffy, "dusty"; a crow that doesn't seem to preen itself or be preened, ever. kind of haggard... it both would suit his demeanor. i wanted the ruffled head feathers to evoke his hair shape also >>

besides that, i wanted to draw ruby interacting playfully with him, like this. i think it's something that he could show her privately and then, ruby's simple nature makes her very dazzled and intrigued by him. since his crow form is for spy purposes, it means it is mostly something he uses for utilitarian reasons -- which, is why i'd love for him to actually get to be touched and handled like this. it'd be really novel and new and unique! he already has a playful side with ruby, so i imagine he would take to eventually pecking her fingers, grasping her, clambering onto her clothes, playing with her hair, etc. even tucking into her hood, or being thrown into the air by her, or catching things she throws at him, and so on! They could really learn to read each other's movements and become in sync.

the ribbon is just a little something ruby gives him to make him feel cute lol. it's a ribbon from some article of clothing of hers.
