In 1900s, traffic of several branch lines have increased during Christmas season and all branch line trains of Northern Nathan Central Railway have to assign mixed trains on the various branch lines for rush season and making it easier to deliver passengers, mail and goods to the connecting main line trains faster and vise-versa, as well as increased satisfaction of passengers and railways reputation.

The branch lines who adopted the Christmas mixed train service mostly
- Tideon End Branch Line
- Shoreline Brach Line
- Tiffson Light Railway
- Stel-ston and Weymouth Railway

These services continued until 1970 where road traffic increased and two branch lines withdrew the services as early as 1965 leaving Tideon End Branch Line and Shoreline Branch Line restarting the service in 1984 where the branch line became useful again when road traffic became congested and post vans broke down as demand increased.
