Some neopet OCs I made over the summer - a christmas Kyrii and a rainbow Kyrii. These two sisters are very close with one another and best friends, despite their differences in age and demeanor. More writing incoming, pertaining to their backstory & setting

Chialuxe and Luxeiy's parents are sort of strange, and atypical for the neopets world; they value same-species biological children. in a world where interspecies and adoption is the norm, along with species changing, it really is distinct to see a pair of kyrii who are obsessed with their lineage. The family photo albums would be really strange when compared with the neighborhood, just Kyriis, and generally ones with very fancy expensive PBs.... In tandem, they feel very protective about their public image, and how other families perceive them. They feel as though they need to defend their position in an affluent neighborhood, as they 'worked hard' to get where they are. they flaunt their wealth by having an ostentatious property in an already bourgeois area of Faerieland (pre grounded).
as a sort of divine punishment for their inclinations, their daughters become attracted to one another...
At first, when Chia is born, they think they have this perfect, beautiful daughter! a kyrii who will become a star and produce them beautiful kyrii grand children! big win! As she grows up, they notice her being a little slow developmentally, and not doing very well in preschool and kindergarten (though i should note that education is not mandatory or regulated in [my canon] of the neopets world, so it is also another eccentric high-standard thing for them to enroll their daughters into school and push for higher education). Anyways, they are only slightly concerned, as Chia is very young, they assume it's something that can be worked past.
Years later, when Chia is 6, they have Lux. To them, Lux is... more of a letdown in appearance, but hey, that's life. maybe she can make up for it in her presentation, maybe the birthmark will fade over time, maybe there's something they can do for her eye. the claws are like... well, sigh, that is a halloween kyrii trait, something kicking around in the genetic pool, oh well. it can be dealt with all in due time, surely.
They notice Chi taking immediate interest in the new baby, being very excited and interested in her from the start. she's so eager to spend time with the baby and hold it and bring it toys, oh! it's so fun!! this is great!!! she wants to be a good older sister. Their parents observe this and feel hopeful, like oh, it seems our little girl is great with kids, that's very sweet! Maybe she would be a good teacher! They can't help but view everything through this lens, of preplanning her future and wanting to direct it towards something they can take pride in.
They watch as Chi always brings the baby toys and pacifiers whenever she cries and gets good at using baby bottles. it's nice to see their daughter have ambition, and it is an excuse for them to be more hands off with Lux, so it's kind of like sure, let's let this happen. less supervised playtimes and all that...
but... well. Later, around when Lux is a toddler (~2) and chi is a small child (~8) they stumble in on them just full on making out--! Needless to say, they are flabbergasted by what they are seeing, and hurriedly pull them apart. Upon doing so, the children are innocently confused about what is happening. They are separated for a while as their parents try and work this out. Overall, this event takes a toll on their parents; it absolutely devastates and beleaguers them. Assume, in this world, incest isn't a cultural Sin, but still is not preferred amongst your family. especially if you put more stock into family values.
The confluence of factors are also making them very concerned. The fact that Chi and Lux have a very significant age gap is hard to reconcile with. Lux is kind of blameless as a very barely cognizant child, who is apt to put anything in her mouth. but Chi is... capable of making decisions to a degree... it's strange she chose to do this? She doesn't seem to understand she did anything wrong either, is confused when pulled away hurriedly from her sister... this is haunting information about her.
Is this a predilection...? and for what, her sister, or, children in general?? Hrm...
The fact that these Kyrii care so much about their image means the thought of their daughters being in any way abnormal beyond just appearances is painful for them, they don't know what to do!!! And yet, their own preferences make them refuse to adopt out their youngest child, or in any way let this be known to the neighborhood.
so.. they just try to quietly mitigate this the best they can.Their daughters are generally well behaved, despite being fail lords in their own ways, so it is hard to know when to draw the line... You can't MAKE them have friends or more drive to find a career. You can't really do too much without justification... if they want to share a bedroom you kind of have to allow it because maybe YOU two are being weird by making this really taboo.. they want it to just be a one-off freak incident they can leave behind....
Lux's PB journey is like, this side thing, going on, which makes her aware over time of her parents being a bit strange with their preferences. she can assess that she is valued less than her sister. Just noticing that there are decidedly less photos of her being taken, and that it is never on her 'bad' side, and that when she is Grey there are basically no photos of her. Log away this information.
The journey of her being Grey, in general, puts a pin in things... when she was very young, like kindergarten age, she got teased for being a basic color, and knew her parents were saving up to get her something rather fancy for her birthday or whatever. She childishly wished for this to happen faster so she could be pretty like her sister... but, erm. Fate can be cruel, and some errant thing happens, like some children mix a potion into her lunch or she gets in the line of fire of some wizard duel. Zapping her grey, and genderswapping her.
being grey is like.. er, well, she feels as though she asked for it, and neither wants to be painted back to basic green or whatever her parents are, nor be rainbow to copy her sister. so she meditates on that... and in the meantime, sees how very visibly tired/exhausted her parents are about her not just deciding to be something else sooner. This perhaps only furthers Lux's resolution that it needs to be a personal, self-made decision... When she finally settles on Christmas, there's this pleasant affection for how she feels like a palette swap of Chi; white body, colorful hair... Finding a yellow/orange beanie also reminds her of her sister's orange/yellow face... (I like that it adds to her hodge-podge middle schooler look, where she is just finding things and wearing them because of the little reasons they make her happy, even if it's not very coordinated or decisive. The charm of making the most of what you can find.)
As for, her junk, it's like-- it's an extra detail she quietly omits. as, it is embarrassing and unnecessary to involve parents in this... and why should they be informed? It just effects how she pees, really. it's fine...maybe she'll just fix it later... though, over time, she quietly becomes attached to the situation. it's actually nice, in ways... um... until, it's not, and she starts having 'Boy puberty' that she is not prepared for! The sensitivity and aimless desire to cram plagues her, over time. she has a distinctly rough time, pubin' out hard. kind of developing some real incel emotions later down the line.
For contrast, Chi has a decidedly less extreme puberty, and doesn't seem so effected. Well, she is a simple girl, she just doesn't dwell much on her feelings, and what she does feel is not directed at any of her peers at all. At some point, as a later teen (16-17) she has a negative experience once. being manipulated by a boy bc she is a dumb pretty girl, kind of cajoled into their room, and aggressively handled... the bad touch makes her freak out and decide that going over others' house is ALL bad, and she must not like any touch.... Not understanding what she experienced was atypical, but it nerfing her, as she was already at a disadvantage with not being attracted to anyone...
but of course.. the sisters will collide eventually, naturally, realizing they have always been very compatible with one another... Even as they are older (14 & 20) they still readily enjoy playing with their stuffed animals, RPing baabaa and baabaa wrangler, wrestling, chasing each other, all sorts of things. Naturally ! Some things will escalate! and won't that be nice? :>
