Very Mild Content from new Final Fantasy XIV expansion: EndWalker.

But cautiously post this for you all as I been under the weather, to say, for a comic last weekend. Hopefully this at least makes sense to those unfamiliar with the game. And a chuckle for those who are. :P

NOTE: Pleeeaaase don't post spoilers in comments. lol.

I'm sure they're inevitable, but I know it's been really hard for most to even log into the game to play since their player base practically doubled months before they launched. So cautiously post this. ^^

Namingway is actually a reference to Final Fantasy 4, where the character Namingway goes through a bunch of different names based on his current job until settling on a permanent one by the end of his game-spanning side quest line. He is also a proto-moogle species, the Hummingway, that would later in the series evolve into the fluffy little puffballs and pom-poms we know and love today.

Yup, it’s use in the FF series is generally for renaming.

Yup. He could rename people. As the game went on, he had more one-time uses, like providing the world map as mappingway, but primarily his purpose was to give you the option to rename your party.

The Loporrits are the best thing in the expansion.

Well, until you get to the end. But they're absolutely adorable and funny and cute and when they make robot versions of them in the real world I'm going to have one to be in my house and snark on things.
